Remember when multiboxing was frowned upon because it would take away someone else's player slot? We don't really have to worry about that anymore. Say what you will, but five completely silent 5kers in formation sounds like a way bigger payday to my piratical self than one silent 5ker, especially considering I can multiply my demand by the amount of multiboxed ships, to make pirating for money a little more viable than it is now.
Multiboxing is only a concern for people worried about precious credits/hr and tracker hours nowadays. Considering how much of a complete joke the economy is, what with the Ores, 4/5 of which absolutely nobody wants to haul because someone "streamlined" Ores to the point where you can just do Gold/Alu forever with even the few competitors it already had forever removed from consideration.
So here's my pitch:
We change
Rules as they are now Wrote:5.5 - Connecting to the server with more than one character at a time (Multiboxing).
to
Multiboxing Rewrite Wrote:5.5 - Connecting to the server with more than one character at a time on a tracked tag (see here for a complete list).
That way, it's "double or nothing" on those silent 5kers, AND it artificially inflates the server's population outside of events. And don't even get me started on missions. Having a hauler with you earns "you" only 1,6 x credits/sec having two ships out, which from my incredibly shaky math, drops profitability down by enough for it to be not worth it (especially at higher-level mission running where if you're not going back for repairs, you're going to die, no questions asked, negating the profit factor of having the hauler fly home to take missions for you).
Pros:
More things to shoot
Cons:
Not everyone has a computer capable of multiboxing/multiple computers capable of running FL
