Redmond's words were, verbatim: "Selim has yet to deliver on Gallic intelligence despite the kind offer of the Kusari Naval Forces to allow us to attach observers. Perhaps the Armed Forces should do the observing itself." Further: "We need intel desperately, as the events in Gallia will have ramifications for Bretonia. Also tell him to pack up his stuff from the BIS base in Exeter, I am not sending patrols to defend it any more." It might not be that you have promised anything to him, but nevertheless he expects the Service to do its duty and provide information on crises in our neighbourhood. I would say he is planning something, hence the need to pull forces from Exeter. There has been demand to evacuate Exeter in the Parliament since the success of the Carlisle project by Cryer, but I do not believe that this is related because the government has not issued orders about this yet. If Carlisle was the reason, he would have waited for orders from the government to withdraw forces, but it seems to me that there is something more urgent that even I cannot be privy to. I expected you to know more.

If there is still something that needs explanation, speak with Redmond directly. From today I am on an indefinite leave. Exeter has been mostly pacified, now I am required to pacify political matters in the Parliament. Exeter will be transferred to full military authority for the duration of my absence. I suggested Captain Pria Y'berg as the new governor-general, but Redmond was adamant and would not have her.

Bretonia seems to be sailing into a storm, Selim. Do not let the Service stand idle.
