EPISODE TWO

Scene 1 - „Home away from home”

It is not in the bricks, it is not in the windows,
It is in the friends and the family living under its roof.

The ragtag group made its way through system after system, silently, towards Omicron 55. Talfryn thought long and hard about how to approach the next step in this quest to find out what happened to O'Rhu Cell, to Rahotep, ans to Orack, and staging the next step from Omega 55 seemed not only logical, but also more practical, in order to stay out of sight by, well, virtually everyone. The voice messages left behind by Orack, calling them to Omega 58, we're empty of other information, and as such, Talfryn had no other choice but to reach that dreaded system. Looking at things, this was not an easy task to complete. First, because he did not know what to expect, he was not sure he wanted to find that Orack was dead and gone, along with Rahotep, and this to be the end of dream that was O'Rhu Cell even. Second, the Intel about that system was many years old by now, since last expedition in the fringes of that system done by O'Rhu took place a few months before the CV-Ma'at was dispatched to scour the bretonian systems. A blind jump, basically. Third, they were in need of some staging base, and this had to be such a place that allowed the simple, fast, unnoticed movement in its vicinity, on the one hand, and the ability to sustain them and the crafts, on the other. Luckily, Caitlyn's uncle was a resident of the small Junker depot in the system, Bornholm. It seems that as annoying this woman seemed to Talfryn, as much she was well connected in the strangest of places. Running people through space and beyond in leisure trips had to be a reason for it, among others. In the end, Alexander Lafferentz was right about her, it seems. She proved of a real gain for this endeavor that Talfryn was so obsessively pursuing.

So this was the new 'home' away from home for the group. During his years in Bretonia, he dreamt about the moment he was to be part of another O'Rhu operation. He could not have ever imagined then that the first operation back home would be one to find out why there is no more O'Rhu. And all this with the help of some newcomers, people that could as well just leave and see about their lives. Life is strange, that is for sure. And Talfryn already started to make plans of how to handle this next challenge. He wanted to find out faster about the fate of Orack and the Rahotep, about what series of events pushed Orack to call for just a handful of O'Rhu personnel to their help, and why here, out of all places, why in Omega 58. His first thought was to catch a tongue or two and see about the activity in the region, all activity by all, and especially the activity of the infected ones, the Wild. Second, to find out more about the JH in the Omega 58 system and as much Intel about the system and its surrounding as possible. He still wanted to avoid a completely blind jump, given the circumstances. Third, he needed to consult with Alexander Lafferentz and the few others officers about how to proceed once in the system. He came to value and actively look for Unoner's advice and expertise. After all, Orack also took great interest into him, during the years, and Talfryn came to understand more why. Last, but not least, TAVIA was to be reinstated with full commands on the Sakir'Har. Whilst not something Talfryn was completely sure about, the lack of proper manpower meant this was the best solution for now.

For now though, all that the group had to do was to make the best of the facilities on board Bornholm and make themselves accustomed with the surrounding. Soon, they'll have to set up patrols, just like in Bretonia, and set things in motion to see this ordeal to the end. Talfryn thought Unioner could manage the patrols and the Intel gathering, all the while taking Lykos under his wing and train him like on of their own, and in the meantime, Caitlyn could attend to her business. For once, things were looking to go their way, even though just slightly.
