Ship log 7/8/827,

made by currently acting commanding officer Barbora Shedivova. We nearly lost our ship.

At 0823 28/7/827, we detected temperature and pressure spike in the Reactor #2. We engaged emergency reactor shutdown sequence, but the reactor's worn out systems weren't functioning properly and were unable to shutdown reactor immediately. As a result, the reactor began to melt down and started fires across the overheated coolant pipes.
At 1040, I ordered all non-essential crew to abandon the ship and engaged auxiliary power unit as we started shutdown sequence of all remaining reactors.
At 1200, we began diverting all available coolant to the raging inferno in the Reactor #2. When the coolant stopped all the reactions, we then dumped all the available water and air there to cool it down further.
At 1500, we had situation under control and our ship was towed to the Schatten Facility again to receive emergency repairs and decontamination. As for now, Reactor #2 is now sealed off and shut down permanently until new replacement is found. We lost 17 hands during this incident, 15 of them were working near Reactor #2 or its coolant lines when it happened. New safety protocols are in place for the remaining reactors.

With our ship temporarily inoperable, we focused on our recruitment efforts. Until now, we have managed to recruit 224 new hands and 31 marines.

At 1200 8/8/827, we are scheduled for our ship launch. Repairs are almost finished.
