Mr. Ling in Combat Gear - 825 A.S.

9th September, 827 A.S.

Coming to you live from the deep dark heart of Liberty, to shed light on the universe around you. This is Mike Hunt, and you're listening to Radio Free Liberty, the only news source that doesn't censor the facts.

Today, we have none other than Mr. Ling himself, a member of the Lane Hackers' inner circle, once a fierce fighter on the surface of Pittsburgh, now an intelligence specialist with a keen eye for other people's business.

- Thank you for having me, Mike

- Of course. Our first order of Business is, of course, Rheinland. It's been in turmoil since the Imperialist take over.

- I'm going to correct you right there, Mike: The Unioner takeover.

- Oh really?

- Of course. There are a few documents that I'll provide to supplement this case, but everyone's heard about the gas attack on Alster shipyard, yes?

- A tragedy in it's own right.

- Now what if I told you that this new "regime" immediately forgave and forgot those crimes?

- Well, I'd say that there's got to be some sort of conspiracy there

- There is. Now, what if I told you that this new regime suddenly attacked me on my daily route to chat with the military, as stiff as they were?

- Well, I'd say they aren't the same military as before.

- They aren't. This new military isn't really the "true feeling of Rheinland" as they claim to be. They are, in fact, a small minority that will do anything and kill anyone in order to attain power. Just like the Unioners themselves.

- So, the current Rheinland revolution...

- Is actually a hostile takeover. Sirius knows all too well the sins of the Unioners. They're lower than simply power hungry. They kill for the fun of it. The real sinner here is the ever-disgusting Corin Frei. I've done my fair bit of research on my enemies. That fool isn't even a real Unioner.

- Is that so?

- Yep. He just tells them what to do. He's a man who used the local murderous mob to kill millions if not billions, and has gotten away with his crimes. Now the real government of Rheinland is in exile, and the Unioners, a movement that once promised equality for the Rheinland workers that turned to mass murder through toxic gas, now roam Rheinland freely, killing, maiming, and assaulting the few good citizens left.

Of course, of course, this is positively horrible. Such a course of events spells only hardship for the Rheinland people. We'd like to take a moment to encourage the citizens of this Imperial and impoverished Rheinland to evacuate to other houses. We here at Radio Free Liberty do care about our listeners and viewers, and wish to see all the good people make it out alive. Furthermore, We'd also like to encourage any donors to sponsor these poor people's flights from the terrible thing that has become of Rheinland. Now, we'll come back to Mr. Ling after Jennie gives us a report on the real people in Liberty, not the fat 3% that Liberty officials shill to death and back.

- Thank you, Mike. I'm Jennie Talia, here on Planet Pittsburgh for the 48th week of acid rain. The atmosphere has begun full blown greenhouse effects, and the house Liberty has done nothing about it. People are suffering here, especially under the concealed brutality of the LPI and even the LSF, not to mention the hostile, dangerous, and even purposefully murderous work environments the DSE forces onto people in the mines. I'll turn you over to our analyst now.

- My pleasure, Jennie. People of Sirius, I am Doctor Hugh G. Reckshun, ex-military analyst for Bretonia's Armed Forces. I've been asked to speak on the sudden spike in military and law enforcement violence and frequency. As anyone might be able to guess, it's not simply a long string of bad days, and thanks to the excellent information provided to me by the Lane Hackers, I can now say with certainty that they are running scared. It appears that a certain Battlegroup Harmony, a group with substantial training by the Liberty Navy, has assimilated a group with substantial resources. Of course, with the recent attacks on them in Bering showing their weight in the grand scheme, it seems to have left the group relatively unfazed. Their access to substantially greater resources, and their control of both technology and training identical to Liberty's, makes them more than a match for the Liberty Navy itself. One of the greatest truths in warfare is that knowing your enemy is half the battle won. Liberty Navy is a massive force, and retraining everyone in it is virtually impossible. This new Insurgency can simply adapt to what training they have, and easily outplay Liberty. They're scared, and scared people will take out their frustrations on others. While I'm sure it's what you're already doing, I still wholeheartedly suggest that you avoid the Liberty law. They will be violent, and there's no telling what angry men and women will do. Also, I'd like to give a special thanks to the Lane Hackers, for providing me with more information than I'd ever had in my life.

- Thank you, Dr. Reckshun. Back over here, Mr. Ling, any further news?

- Why yes, Gallia is at war with Kusari.

- *audible gasp* But why!?

- That's the kicker, Mike. No one knows for certain. It appears that Kusari has claimed that Gallia is still in possession of the weapons that were once used to destroy the entire system of Leeds, but the leads, sources, and evidence on it all is very scarce.

- Well, a House doesn't just declare war out of the blue.

- That's where I disagree. Kusari is currently an empire. What's to say that the emperor didn't just have a bad day, and proceed to take his aggression out on the neighbors? They quickly blazed a path through the Taus, I've seen it myself. I went on a 5 week expedition through there. They've destroyed so efficiently it's almost as if their opponents weren't there in the first place. Gallia's scrambled its fleets, but Kusari has already pushed to their productive heart. It really does seem as if they think that Gallia is producing these weapons, which only proves the fanaticism attached to the Navel Forces in service of their country. I'd love to get in touch with a Kusari Naval Intelligence and confirm something, anything, but alas, Lane Hackers are sort of on their criminal list.

- Ahahaha, yes, that'd get in the way.

- As soon as I have solid information, have no doubt that I'll bring it hear. The people do not deserve to live in ignorance, and Radio Free Liberty is the best way to rescue them from such a fate.
