Because it is AI and needs an AI ID. AI can have a really interesting RP which is why I signed up for the Daoine Saorise. Not your usually fight club. How else can you land on Planet Gammu, or fly their ships?

It doesn't. Myself and many others have RP'd AI on Freelancer IDs. GAI is not AI. GAI is an alien race, not the traditional AI you are trying to RP. Pretty much why I think making GAI NPC only and then releasing a generic AI ID of sorts might be the way forward.
