Ghods places a small mask on Sonja's face, and pulls a string on it. The silent hiss of neural depressants marks the beginning of the operation itself. As Sonja begins to lose consciousness, Ghods steps to the back wall of the Operation room, and makes himself comfortable in a lean against it. Producing a small spherical incense burner on a chain, he momentarily holds a flame underneath it until smoke begins rising, after which he puts the lighter away and holds the burner dangling from the chain in front of him.
Netsakh calmed themselves. Their discontent feelings towards Thraike would hinder them at this point, but they would make them known later. They prepared for the intent of their bearer, given that the bearer's knowledge was at play at this point.
Ghods focused all of his energy through Netsakh. He needed to manipulate many things. The temperature in the room dropped considerably, and a pulse of energy came from him, blowing the smoke from his burner outwards. A second pulse, and then a third. On the fourth pulse, he connected with the space around him. Through this, he could monitor Sonja with ease. With such operations as grafting, or basic surgeries, full anesthesia is needed. However, for the process they sought to undertake, a special state of mind was needed. Neither conscious, nor unconscious, but in a state of subconsciousness, where the mind and body were active and self-aware, but not aware of the outside world. Frost spread around his feet and where his back made contact with the wall. The smoke from his burner began falling down, and pooling around his feet. Anyone who looked at him would have seen a blurry, distorted shape consisting of the starry sky, but that was merely a hallucination generated by the amount of telepathic energy he was outputting. As he drew a mental space for Sonja to reside in in her own mind, something akin to a lucid dream, he said to the bystanders: "Operation is a go. Her mind and body are prepared."
