Greetings
I bring unfortunate news today. With the help of the GRG vessel Lunarblade that was equipped with the matrix and the Aengus with the hyperdrive, we set out to the system of Laptev and Galileo. The lunarblade took the unstable jumphole and placed a beacon within Laptev. As soon as we picked up said signal we charged our FTL drives and attempted the jump. Unfortunatly to no effect. We recalibrated multiple times and after five failed jumps and multiple diagnostics to ensure it's not an equipment failiure we have had to conclude that we cannot jump into Laptev. Later diagnostics revealed that this was caused by a gravitational rift present in the Laptev system wich in turn triggered the safety protocolls and aborted the jump. I had the time to analyze the data that we gathered and had to conclude that we cannot risk disabling the safety protocolls fo this jump as the models i ran indicated an 80% chance of catasrophic failiure and 90% casualty rate should we tried it.
Therefore i will have to rely on a smaller craft to conduct the research. Fortunatly this vessel is already in our posession as i estimated that provided we suceed in jumping the Aengus into Laptev we will require at least one or two supply runs. Said vessel is curently docked on Ames station and as soon as i arrive i will transfer the equipment aboard it. This should take about ten more hours maximum. And then we will finally start our mission.
