Doc ordered some coffee. He took it black and was rather at ease. For him, it wasn't often that he was. He tried not making it a habit to get too involved with his patients but now and then, he found a special case that tapped his interest. Awhile back, it was a stray Rogue that crashed on his station.

He was silent for a couple of minutes. He just listened to her speak of the stars and her mention of wanting to hear him play. But for now, he wanted to address her earlier concern. In typical long winded Doc fashion, he spoke of it.
"Sonja, when I started Med Force Enterprises, I started with a single transport ship, flying from place to place to build funds enough to buy my own practice." He pointed at Shasta through the window. "It was there that it began from my old friend Malaclypse." He gave a light smile and hmph, "May he rest in peace. It is fitting that years later I would start this base with another old friend."
He sipped his coffee before continuing. "I continue to fly place to place, performing surgeries in between, the only pay I get is satisfaction which quite honestly, credits can't buy. Besides, there is no honor in credits but there is plenty in the results of my work."

He sighed a moment before continuing. "I wanted to help people and I have done that many times over. Sadly, some of those people had a sharp knife in their hand with a target on my back. Still, I do my work."
He looked straight at her, his hands around his cup. "I commend you for wanting to help people. You remind me of an old friend, Doreen, who felt as you do." He then smiled a bit, "She could not afford school either but is now a chief medical officer. Her identity and location I will keep secret but payment for training is not in credits or trade but in keeping the Hippocratic Oath sacred and sticking to those principles no matter what the odds or the dangers."
He sipped his coffee before looking at her again. "So tell me, what would you like to learn?"
