Faction Details

Faction Goals:
1. Establish Sirius-wide monoploy in provision of security training, route clearance, transport of hazardous or important materials and personnel, escort services for trade vessels, explosive ordnance disposal, and manned guarding services in hostile areas to safeguard personnel, installations, and equipment.
2. Finance and conduct exploration of Nomad space in search of alien artefacts and technologies.
3. Eliminate persons or organisations affiliated with the covert terrorist organisation known as the Order.

Methods:
1. Utilise former affiliates of organised criminal groups throughout Sirius to serve search and destroy warrants on targets identified by House police organisations.
2. Use intelligence on gravitational anomalies used by various smuggling and narco-trafficking collectives and deploy ambush tactics to eliminate targets of opportunity.
3. Carry out covert reconnaisance of outer systems and edgeworlds.
4. Gather specimens of technologies and live prisoners of hostile organisations.
5. Construct secure forward operating bases in unexplored sectors.

The Agency operates throughout Sirius, and its profits finance critical Guild Core activities in the Edgeworlds.
We primarily employ demobilised soldiers from all corners of Sirius, bankrupted businessmen, retired policemen, war veterans, former convicts, illegal immigrants and the dregs of society who are unfit, unwilling or ineligible to serve or who are normally left doing the jobs considered too dirty for anyone else.

The amnesty conditions that the Guild has negotiated with governments mean that becoming an operative provides an opportunity to end an old life and begin a new one.

Application Information

There are several paths to becoming an agent.

Bear in mind that you are NOT allowed to transfer credits from another character to the character you are using to apply to the Agency.

Step 1 - Becoming Eligible

You must establish that you were one of the following before acquiring Guild membership.

1) A former member of one of the established organised pirate or criminal factions from anywhere in Sirius who is serving time in a correctional institution and is seeking to benefit from amnesty conditions.

2) A former member or retiree of the armed forces or police organisations of Bretonia, Rheinland or Liberty, discharged either honorably or dishonorably.

3) A former trader or member of any established trading consortium from anywhere in Sirius who has suffered a major financial loss.

4) A former mercenary of member of any mercenary or security organisation.

5) A civilian who has become involved in criminal activities or has no prospect of any future worth living.

Acquiring Guild membership requires completing missions from the Bounty Hunter Job Boards until you have maxed out your Guild reputation and received the Bounty Hunters Guild affiliation. The Guild has offices on practically every civilian, Zoner and police facility, with large stations under Guild management at Sheffield Station in Bretonia; Deshima Station in Shikoku and Rostock Station in Omega 15. If you do not have a positive enough reputation with the Bounty Hunters to start a Bounty Hunter mission, another Hunter or friendly pilot can group with you and start a mission for you. This may require performing missions for lawful factions or capturing and killing members of known criminal groups.

Special consideration will be given to aplications supplemented by letters of commendation or references provided by former employers. That means a post in the kudos thread for decent RP and being an all-round swell guy or something like this.

Special Applications by existing Guild members

We welcome existing Guild members who are seeking to operate as part of a organised collective and co-operative organisation within the Guild. That means we have to know you, have worked with you in the past and regard you as the sort we'd trust to stand shoulder to shoulder with. Established Guild members accepted to the ranks will be admitted automatically to the rank of Agent and are not subject to the restrictions of the Recruit phase of admission. The faction will upgrade any of your current ships and you may continue to fly them as you see fit. Access to our expanded fleet will also be provided.

[color=#FFFFFF]Step 2 - Ship and ID Requirements

After performing these tasks you should possess one of the following ships
AP6364 Piranha Light Fighter
AP14458 Sea Serpent Light Fighter
CLI-11000 "Arrow" Civilian Light Interceptor
AP7031 Barracuda Heavy Fighter
and only weapons and equipment manufactured by the Guild or a civilian manufacturer.
You should also have a Bounty Hunters Guild ID and a flashing Bounty Hunters Guild reputation and affiliation.

Further equipment upgrades are discouraged until reaching Agent rank when they will be provided by the faction. At the Recruit level the only recommended equipment upgrades are an Adv. Cargo Scanner and a Train CD. The Train is essential for intercepting fleeing criminals. You may also reinforce the armour on your ship, but this should be no greater than a level 3 upgrade. You are not permitted to transfer credits from other characters (yours or someone else's, except through payment for contracted work) or upgrade your ship without permission.

Step 3 - Notify the Agency

ONLY AFTER successful completion of these tasks and after receiving your new Bounty Hunters affiliation, you may notify the Agency of your credentials by posting in this thread.
What goes in the Notification:
A) Your name.
B) Describe your past history and reasons for joining the Guild with visual evidence where necessary.
C) Describe the process by which you acquired Guild membership and your efforts to acquire your ship.

Step 4 - Starting as a Recruit

After reviewing your application, one of the Directorate will contact you to inform you of your approval or disapproval. Once admitted, the Agency will finance a namechange for your character to indicate S/D affiliation. This will allow other agents to recognise you and communicate and co-ordinate operations more efficiently. All new recruits are strongly encouraged to utilise Guildnet, the Agency's secure communications channel (aka: Skype.) Get skype set up and report your details to the Directorate. All recruits will begin operating on one of the Agency's current contracts. Recruits are also entered into a training program which includes combat simulation in the Agency's larger support craft. Pilots demonstating skill and aptitude will be required to pilot support ships from time to time. These ships include the GBH1-Gunship, Armoured Transports, large Prison Liners, Orca class gunboats and heavy bomber craft. Further ship upgrades and promotions will depend upon your performance. Recruits should also begin fulfilling job board missions for the police factions of Rheinland, Bretonia, Kusari and Liberty until they have green reputations with each of these factions.

Huh, what's role-play?

We expect members to play the role of a bounty hunter in a manner that reflects the stated aims and character of the faction. We operate all over Sirius so we expect to encounter many diverse factions. Suitable RP in-game is a must. Repeated out of roleplay behaviour and you are out.
It's taken us a long time to acquire the reputation we have. No one is going to jeopardise that. Sure, we all make mistakes, and if you are new to the server. we'll help you as much as possible. But act like a nubtard and we'll show you the door.

1. Read, Learn & Obey all Discovery RP Server Rules
2. Absolutely NO OOC/OORP chat in general system chat
3. Out of character may be used in private chat when marked appropriately (//) but should only be used minimally.
4. If you incur a rule violation in which a Discovery Admin posts a sanction, we reserve the right to remove you from the faction.
5. Be willing to contribute in whatever way possible to inducting new members.
6. Keep your non S/D-characters completely separate and play them as such.
7. No ship or weapon that is not listed in our stated lists shall be allowed.
8. All members will follow direct orders from superior officers unless said order is in violation of Server rules.
9. Absolutely no racism, sexism, or religiously based hate speech, actions or innuendo shall be tolerated.
10. Have fun and not take things personally, especially when things don't go our way.

Membership

Read the server rules. Failure to adhere to server rules will get you fired from the Agency.

Read the faction description and history in this thread and our agency operating manual in this thread.

Ask yourself the following questions:
Are you willing to comply with the server rules and faction expectations?
Are you willing to RP according to faction policy, alignment and goals?
Am I aware this is a game to be enjoyed by everyone?
Am I the sort of imbecile who says things like "lol" in-game and couldn't play the role of a brown paper bag?
Am I the kind of moron who likes to cruise around in a massive ship pew-pewing anything smaller without so much as a "Hello"?
What would your membership bring to our faction?
What is your character's RP story?

Another thing: Let us know all the other factions in which you have characters. We do not have any ban on multi-factioning. In fact we encourage people to try different factions on the server - this is a community. We won't have any of this "exclusive" mentality. Uh-uh. Not us at all.

Benefits
Members enjoy jurisdiction and agreements established by management. Which is a lot cooler than it sounds. If you have potential, we'll train you and guide you. If you are struggling, we'll help you. We have a few larger ships on shared accounts so if you haven't flown one and want to try one out, we'll give you a chance.
