Sirs -

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Maxmillian de Virgo et Cornwall duChamplain. Please just call me Max, or Maximum, for short. I find myself in a position that is uncomfortable to me - I am no longer in control of my destiny. My family has long been in the trading business, and we owned several small trading vessels which quite successfully plied the inter-system markets. We were never jealous of the large houses, for while they were moving the large cargoes between systems, they were also taking the higher risks of interstellar flight.

We had an opportunity to purchase a used interstellar cargo ship that was being upgraded. My family was against it - the volume of cargo space could never be filled by our inner-system runs, and we would lose money with the sihp. It was at my insistence that we research potentially going inter-system - something we had always avoided. I 'proved' that we could use this ship, make more money in only two runs than we had in a full year, and become one of the most powerful families on our homeworld.

There was a flaw in my calculations. This flaw cost the lives of 23 of my immediate family members, and my honor. I have sworn revenge upon the Order and those who traffic in human lives. It was only through the good mercies of an unknown member of the Bounty Hunters Guild that I even survived myself. All I have at this time is the shirt on my back, some small funds that I have gained access to, and a Starflier.

I would request, if you act favorably upon my decision, that I be given the chance to redeem my honor, and since I have ... no blood family remaining alive ... that the Strontium Dogs allow me opportunity to join their brotherhood.

My only other character on the Discovery server is Agmen. Offline, I've been playing Freelancer for several years, including a ton of the older mods. I'd quit playing for a while, just because of real life, and recently found the game again. I D/L'd the Discovery Mod and ran through the campaign again just because I could. As for fighters, I really like the Manta. Offline I'm still flying the Viper II, just because it's - you know, a BSG Viper. (Offline, actually, I have several split saves - I still haven't explored all of the galaxy yet just because the Discovery mod is so BIG!)

Online, Agmen had a Manta for a while and he almost applied with you guys once, but he likes being a Freelancer a little too much. Max is another alter-ego from my old RPG days. His backstory is basically the same, except in an AD&D type setting. Pirates and slavers are the same, whether they're on a planet or out in space.

If Max is approved, he'd like a Manta, and he'd like to be out in Bretonia basically, and that's where he'd stay. Everything sort of Southwest of a line from Tau 31 down through Newcastle, Cortez, Magellan, Omega 7, 11, and 41. (Aka all of Bretonian space, with most of the Omegas included.)

Depending on real life, I'm online normally between 5 - 10 hours per week.
