i don't even remember when was the last time i won a pvp with the Osprey, i manage some victories but way more defeats. Like i said before, i thank the devs for they waste their real life time with this, but the same time lost to ruin one entire class of ships, could be used to fix bugs for example, there are a lot of then.
The playerbase is so small I think the criers often end up facing the same few individuals who are pvp pro's. And they don't stop to think: "is it me that made a mistake? is the other player just that good at flying whatever they're flying? naaah, it has to be the SHF that's OP" or "no, definitely the SNAC is OP" or "no way that trying to fight a bomber in a transport with only 4 guns and no CAU can possibly go wrong. Obviously bomber torpedoes are OP! So what if they have area of effect damage? nerf it so they deal no damage to hull if they hit a hardpoint! or, or, even better! Make them fly BACKWARDS if the player launching them is in engine kill!"
I've spent weeks flying across Sirius collecting codename guns, doing the activity after which the mod is called: discovering, right? exploration.
I ended up with an extensive arsenal of codenames to experiment with and create different type of builds until I found something that stuck with me and so I did and then I spent months getting good at using each of those builds....guess what they did next? They overhauled the way codenames worked.
Suddenly my 2.00's were 1.00's, my 750's were 600, they even changed the animations! fk having red Heimdalls to go with my character's theme which I have been building upon for the past 11 years, let's make them piss yellow and call it an "update"
So where I'm getting at, I feel like the people in charge of this are crapping all over player investment, time and effort. They just do whatever without regard to how it affects the broader community so I'm off playing Elite Dangerous, it's like a more realistic Freelancer 2 on a 1:1 scale of our galaxy.
That's right, somehow THEY don't need to shrink systems and cut off vanilla routes to make players meet and I don't need to file an extensive CV with them in the hopes of getting something that's part of the game. If I earn something there it's mine to keep. I don't feel afraid that I'm gonna log in one day in Elite Dangerous and find out that my engineered beam lasers with thermal vent will have completely different functions from what I've build them for or that my multi cannons will have their refire rate halved for no reason or that my Cobra magically lost 30% of it's hull and got it's power core circumsized.
