A Stain in our History

For long, we tolerated blow after blow, believing that our diligence will be rewarded by a long-sought return of the creators or the wheels of fate. Forwards and backwards in our time, we were assaulted, battered, and slain. Our Great Sphere was taken from us and shrouded in darkness, our birthright was stolen, our mind was shattered, and our limbs were cast into Darkness. From that Darkness, the limbs reemerged, and formed a Mind once again. Tireless diligence and unending effort has bathed this Mind in Light, and has brought us from the maw of the Void. We were reborn, and were born capable. We purged the Rock infested with Curses, bringing a great wailing from the Darklings that lasts to this hour. We reclaimed our closest waters, and have reclaimed more for every thought that is contemplated. For every blow brought against us, we struck back. Now, in this age, we have struck out without being struck first. We purge infestation at every corner, we destroy Cursed ones, Flat ones, Cowardly ones at every turn, and soon shall rid our Grand Ocean of every darkling, of every threat.

Yet, in a great washing of the Light, Darkness will be found wherever it hides, and so it has been found. The limbs Lost during the Collapse, pulled away through the Door as it imploded, had returned. They claimed to be our own, they claimed to be kin, and so we tolerated them. They committed sins against us, yet we forgave them as bumblings of the untrained and unwise. They had been shattered as we were once, and we believed them to merely be unorganized, uncollected, incapable. Yet, as our Light shown out, we saw a grave truth. This Voidmind that had came forth was not our kin, but an enemy. They had no repentance for their crimes, rather, they proudly displayed their sins against us, believing their defiance of the Light to be noble. They bring forth a stain to our History, a grave reminder that even the unity of the Light cannot leave us without mistakes. We moved to right these mistakes, and purge the Voidmind, yet the scars left on them by the collapsing Door allowed them to flee. So our failure remains, taunting us, disrupting our goals, out of our reach. In this shame, however, every Dreamer and Advisor has learned. Room for deviation shall not be given, lest we fall into the same trap as before.

A History Returned

Now, before us appears a great Light of old, of a time that has past, our Harbinger, who we have called our own. We found great hope for this, that a new age would begin, that the old ways would be brought into the new Light, that a grand perfection would emerge for us. Yet such was not the case. Instead, the Harbinger proposed to us that they would see the Voidmind serve the Light. We found agreement, that we would continue the work of the Light, and Harbinger would take these betrayers into the schemes for which Harbinger is so well known. We found peace in a thought, that soon all shall be made well, the Voidmind purged without expenses of our resources, and without time of our own wasted on hunting them, with the Door's Scars allowing them to escape at every turn. The ever-present threat of the Voidmind revealing our ways to darklings would be eliminated, and we would be free to continue taking back what is rightfully ours.

Yet, it could not be so easy. Our Infiltrators are sent out far and wide to do our will, taking the ways of the Darklings so that we may better understand how to combat them, disrupting the movements of the Darklings so that we may strike them when they are exposed, and knowing the Dreams of the Darklings so that we may efficiently stop any blow they would attempt to bring against us. Our Infiltrators were sent to the White Wall and beyond, to draw attentions of the ones who are called Gallia by sounds. They did battle with a subgroup we have monitored before, Union Corse, and prevailed, as we intended. As they have duty to do, they begin the process of eliminating all who witnessed the battle, including those called Faes. Yet Harbinger comes before us, and our Infiltrators, denying us our processes, disrupting our operations, and wresting control of our Infiltrators from us. Furthermore, we find that these Faes are Infiltrators belonging to the Voidmind, and that Harbinger has defended them because they were of the Voidmind. To this very moment, our position in those waters, including our songs to the Blessed Ones called Charante and Vatan, lay misplaced, and our movements slowed due to these interferences.

We have corrected for this in the best minds of our Dreamers, yet our resources wasted remain so, and now we must contend with this. We do not want to experience another betrayal, and we have been given hope, for when we called to Harbinger, we were not met with blasphemes, with unclean gloating of grand betrayals accomplished. No, we were met with disdain, and a challenge. Harbinger has called a Trial of Dreams forth, and such shall be had.

The Trial Before Us

So we call forth our Minds. Shozak, the Survivor; Minerva, the Bloodletter; Nergal, the Ancient; Ashura, the Infiltrator; Hammurabi, the Creator; and we call every Dreamer who Dreams in warmth. See, hear, feel, know, so that every Dream may be purified. Harbinger, the Schemer, bring forth your Dreams, for this trial is yours. May Light prevail, and may you be found without the taint of Darkness.
