Mesdames, Messieurs, bonjour!

Ah, conditionnally accepted. Hah! I knew something like that would happen -- hey! That's better than nothing! Anyway.
We received your erm, "observers". Good thing we had a lot of free space! Anyway, I'm sure you know they're safe and sound, and are pretty comfortable here.

First proper operation of the Vaisseau de Guerre Émilie. We did some stuff in Zurich, Picardy and elsewhere but hey, my XO wrote this small document to explain what we saw, ah, thanks! Can't be arsed with that kinda crap!

*Ahem*

The Émilie, normally docked at a classified station, moved from there to the Zurich system, to investigate rumors we heard previously about a foreigner gunboat that entered in Gallia.

As we arrived in Zurich, we discovered two vessels belonging to the Marine Nationale Gauloise. A fighter and a destroyer. We remained at a (very) safe distance, about 10 clicks away. The rumors about the gunboat were true, however, they made us question the fiability of our IFF system. This has been noted on the ship's logbook and we should revise the IFF system soon, with the scanner. The IFF detected the gunboat as "Pirate", we don't know if it's deliberate or not, as it is a Rheinlander gunboat according to the scanner. Its captain, or pilot, claimed that they didn't enter Rheinland back since 30 years.

This is trivial and should not be considered as tactical information. Pirate gunboats are common, especially in independent worlds where two Houses share a system (Zurich). However, we may now know more about the whereabouts of the Marine. Zurich is very much still a strategic place for Gallia, as it is the main way to Rheinland and the "Southern" Sirius sector.

We also discovered that the Marine was just as oblivious as the rest to the Sirian matter and history, especially about the Nomad War. I really wonder where everything went wrong. Perhaps should we realize intel. gathering operations in Sirius, to gain an upper hand against the Gallic forces.

However, we learned that a GSB vessel arrived in the Zurich system. Must've been called by the MNG. A Freelancer, on a bomber, also appeared and actively chased us. A Hessian gunboat appeared approximately when we arrived at the Oerlikon Stellar Observatory. We hailed and warned them about the multiple hostile vessels nearby the IDF jump gate. It proceeded to turn and move back to Cologne, where we witnessed a sizeable contingent of Hessian vessel posted at Tholey Station. The Hessian gunboat implicitly escorted the Émilie to Tholey Station where we briefly halted. Satisfied with the gathered intel, we decided not to engage those who chased us.
