You can see what sparked my anger - you speak of former subjects, you refer to yourself as Juliette Pascal de Lorraine. What's wrong with calling them just...people you lead with no real mandate? Yourself just Juliette Pascal? Old habits die hard, I should know. You spoke like a noble would speak, like a noble bitter about having been taken power from them by other nobles.

How do I know you will not just ascend to power once the Union Nobles and traitors will be removed by us like we removed the King? Is it even right for you to lead your current people instead of being their servant for a change and letting others take the helm, others that are not entitled by some arbitrary bloodline? That would be a true gesture of someone who left their past behind. Prove to me with actions that you have changed as you say you did. Cleansing Lorraine of nobles, Union leaders and Council traitors and letting the people you called your former subjects decide how they want the independent Lorraine to look like would be a good start.

Your secret is safe with me. You have proven useful to us but you have to remember - there is always the bitter aftertaste amongst all Maquisards of the time when our then people compromised and pacted with the Nobles of the Duchy. Look what it brought us, and look where it brough most of those in the Council. You have a big mountain of mistrust to overcome, but with enough actions in Gallia proper, not just against inconvenient splinter Royalist zealots I have no doubt you will be able to overcome it, if you really mean what you told me this time and it is the honest thruth.
