then let me put it that way - it is very much up to the player himself to be consequent about what he does. there is little one can do but to hope someone builds up his RP logically. - if a pirate considers zoners the same as normal traders, he is hostile to them. - that does not concern the faction he is a part of.. but only himself.

so - lets say my gaian Glover would tax zoners the same i tax others.... i would make sure that zoners appear the same way in my hud as others... that is red. - that does not mean that the zoners don t like the gaians anymore, or that the gaians dont like the zoners anymore - but it means that as a pirate i weighed my benefits from taxing a zoner against my disadvantages.

if for example - most of the traders that passed me were zoner IDed... and by letting them all pass, i would loose a great deal of cash, i would go for them. - but as a consquence, i would make sure that i am red to the zoners.... so that i don t even get tempted to ever fly to a freeport or gran canaria ( even if its the only place to buy certain equipment )

or - i think - well, there are a great many zoners, but i let them pass, cause when i attack them, i am hostile to them ( only i, not the gaians ) - and i should not fly to a freeport anymore - however, i need to fly there, cause its the only place i can get stuff like a supernova.

what i cannot do is to happily tax zoners and then fly to a freeport or gammu / primus and buy a supernova.... thats simply not working. when i tax them as if they were just normal traders ( IFF or not ) - i must not treat zoners friendly enough anymore as if they still sell me stuff.

zoners ( or others for that matter ) cannot fix that - the player himself must do it. - i wonder how many players really go that way and take the consequences.

there is little pressure the zoners as a faction can do in RP to demonstrate other factions how much they need them - - but there is still some unique equipment out there that only zoners sell ( or faction bases that are often out of reach ) -

i don t mind a pirate to attack zoners - hell, i even wrote in the other thread that i think it would be great if zoners had no trader protection, but could be attacked by warships. - BUT.... those that do it gotto fix their reputation... thats what comes from attacking zoners.

and again... any player with a zoner ID, not just "second class zoners".

i once had killed 2 cardamine smuggling zoner transports as Cheshire ( BHG ) in frankfurt - they were zoner IDed, police tagged - as a consequence i blew up the depots of the freeport at FP1 - that got me deep red to zoners. - i had to work my way up again by assisting the GMG in missions. - i wasn t forced to do it, but it was the "right" thing to do... . i did it cause it was logical for my char, cause i WANT to roleplay it. - and its damn hard as a BHG to faction up with the zoners again without a cheap bribe ( which feels like cheating ) - this taught me a lesson not to mess with zoners again as BHG.
