Well that was a lot of responses, the bulk of them seemed to include lack of player count to begin with though. Unfortunately, I think the only way I can really encourage people to change that is by taking the initiative to log and RP themselves. You might not be RPing with exactly who you want to when you want to and how you want to, but I suppose that bit of selflessness can contribute to the server recovering more players. Today, I think we hit a top of 60 players. That's a lot more than we've had in recent weeks.
I am starting new RP avenues I thought I wouldn't be doing. I don't mind it, hopefully if others can try the same they might find some interesting reason to log in again. PvP wise... uhh I think it's better I just try and avoid that avenue altogether now. A lot of people get upset at other people logging off at the sight of them or whatever, I think it's pretty lame when entire groups do it - but for individuals, I can kinda understand. I'm hoping the more I try to avoid running and gunning on this game the more it will help. Everyone knows it's been my way of playing for a long time, but in recent months I've tried to limit my time on discovery to once a week to therefore limit the amount of times I could potentially scare people off or w/e. (sounds a bit egotistical I know but I don't mean it like that)
Anyways, hope people are willing to log in themselves and try out new things or give interacting with people they otherwise might not have liked a second chance. All I can do is be positive.
