I don't even have a horse in this race, just seems ridiculous how pretty much everything that was closed off in the past has been opened up by now, yet people are still clinging to this "nooo our super high standards of RP will be ruined" fantasy from 10+ years ago.

Nobody would give half a rat's butt about the standards of roleplay after giving a cursory glance at Stories and Biographies, it's merely a matter of balance.
IDs that can do everything are overpowered and overpowered IDs attract people to the detriment of every other faction.
Giving civilian, unlawful and lawful tech to an ID with a massive ZoI that can shoot EVERYONE is going to attract everyone to that kind of ID... and it's going to leave nothing to shoot for the people who have it.

Let's be pragmatic.
