When the Silent Sunflower Sings

Chapter 2

Good By Grandmother

Sunny Cried as she Realized that she was Alone now. Her Beloved Grandmother was no more and she felt so Lonely and Sad, the Girl just sat there for Hours Crying and holding her Grandmothers hand. as the Sunn was Rising again she was found by the Wife of the Farmer that had Planted the Sunflower Field. As the woman saw what happened she Took Sunny in her Arms, the Girl was so sad and wanted to scream her grief into the world but she couldn't as she had no Vocal Cords. The Farmers Wife Realized that after a while and understood that Sunny was a Mute, the woman Smiled at Sunny and gave her Papernote and a Pencil so they could Communicate.

I am sorry for your Loss girl, but we have to Call the Authorities so your Grandmother can have a Proper Funeral.

Sunny Wrote on her Papernote to answer but some of her Tears were falling on the Sites and made it a bit hard to read for the woman, but in the end, she understood what Sunny wanted to say.

We are Junkers..... But I don't want her to be Buried like this. i...I don't want her to be Burned and shot into the Sun....i c sobs Cant she be Buried here? s..she loved Sunflowers...Sniff

The woman smiled at her and hugged Sunny to Calm her, she brought her to the Farmhouse and Made a Tea for the Girl before she called the Authorities so that Sunnys Grandmother would be Prepared for the funeral. Sunny and her Grandmother just wanted to enjoy the Litle time they Had Left together and didn't thought about the Funeral Before. But Sunny was Lucky, the woman, and her Husband were Kind Souls and helped Sunny through this Hard time. And they Allowed that Sunny's Grandmother was Buried under the Tree where the Two watched the Sunflowers together. One Week after her Grandmother Passed away she was Buried under the Tree, the Only People there were Sunny, the Farmers, and the Priest of a Local Church, and some Helpers. Sunny Cried the Whole-time as the Helpers slowly Lowered the Coffin into the Hole at the Tree. Again she wanted to Scream but she couldn't which made her Cry even more. Her hands were shaking as she gave her Grandmother a Sunflower into the Coffin. Without the Helping Hand of the Farmer's Wife that holds her up, Sunny would have Collapsed because the Sadness was too Strong for her to hold out. But with the Help, Sunny was able to Stay and Gave her Grandmother the Respect she Deserved.

The Rest of the Day was covered by some kind of mental Fog, Sunny Behaved like a Living Dead and just Reacted to her Surroundings but wasn't really there. It took Sunny some days to Find back to her Usual Self. the Farmers took Care of the Girl as if she was her own and gave Sunny time to Grief and find Peace with her loss. In the end, Sunny Stayed 2 Weeks with the Farmers and helped them on the Fram to Repay them for their Kindness. before she left them Sunny Visited the Grave of her Grandmother and Planted a Sunflower on it, a Litle Plate on the Tree showed who found her Final Resting Place there.

Here Lays Cathrine Sulivan, Beloved Grandmother.

May you Walk through Sunflower Fields till we See each other again. "Sunny"

After she Signed a Goodby and Promised to Return Sunny Climbed into the ship she had Restored with her Grandmother and Started the Engines. In the last Weeks, she had talked a lot about the Stars With her Grandmother. Sunny had Promised her that she would travel and see new things, and Sunny had Promised her Grandmother never to Return to Puerto Rico and to stay away from Intense Radiation. Sunny Started the Ship with a Sad Smile on her face and waved a last time to the Grave of her Grandmother before she Turned the Ship towards the Stars. She would Return to her Grandmother once she had Learned new things to Tell her About them.
