The unknown in grey
Chapter 1

Sinon Yuki took her ship once she slept enough. She headed to New Tokyo to her house. The girl did not notice the ship that was there because she was focused on the strange letter. It was in extremis she avoided an attack from a man covered in grey. His face was hid by a mask and his head by a hood. ''Excellent move.'' Said the man with a deformed voice like those from ghost or spectre from the past. Compared to these, this one was real. The unknown continued another attack that missed. In reaction of that attack, the young woman put a foot on the katana and hit hard on the face of the man. The fist made the man loosing his balance. However, he was good so he could stabilized his position. He pushed Sinon making her flying and fell on the ground. The man took his katana and was going to acheive her when he saw the letter on her. He just realized that he was about to murder his own daugther. The unknown put down the katana and let Sinon to stand up again. The man put his katana in its scabbard while he turned to face the house. ''Who... Who are you and what was the meaning of this?'' Said Sinon a bit irritated.

The man removed his mask and his hood and faced Sinon Yuki. His face shocked the girl. Sinon Yuki saw pictures of his father and the man who was before her was him. Why all those years he never returned? What happened to him? All questions without any answer. ''I am back Sinon.'' With a normal voice this time. Her first reaction was to give a good slap from her right hand. The slap hurted a lot, but he accepted it. ''Where were you father? Why did you not return sooner? Do you know my mom was worried ?'' ''I can not tell you here.'' He grabbed Sinon's hand and both went in the house. They both sat on the ground at the table. ''Sinon... Listen, a lot of things happened since I was called for the job.'' ''They all say that...'' ''Please let me talk.'' It was going to be difficult to tell the story to his daughter, but he had no choice. ''I was assigned in to a special task with my squadron. We needed to act before the enemy, but we fell in a trap. I managed to escape and letting all my brothers behind... It is a real shame that I couldn't do anything to safe them. I needed to disappear and faking my death. It hurted me to not see Sakura again, but I had no choice. The last time I saw you, you were a baby. This is crazy that now, you are an adult.'' ''What assignment?'' ''It was to get intel in Bretonia and after, the civil war between the Republic and the Imperial Kusari Navy. I was there too, but like I said, the enemy got us. I exiled myself after.'' It was hard to believe that, but she needed to believe her father. He continued. ''What about you, Sinon? What happened to you?''

''I went in the navy. I wanted to follow your path. I wanted to know what it does and it is not for me anymore. I tried to get your ship, but I couldn't.'' ''I hid it. No one can find it. Please continue.'' ''I made friends in the navy and well... I left after I was ill. An unknown virus. The doctor said to take medicine but I stopped once I arrived here for good.'' ''You stopped to take your medecine? There is consequence you know.'' ''Like to die in a week if I don't? Yes it is the case, but here, in Kusari, weeks passed and look, I am still here.'' She showed the letter to his father. ''I received this yesterday.'' ''It was me.'' Sinon looked at her father confused. ''Wait, it was you who sent this?'' ''Yes.'' Sinon stopped talking a moment. ''So why are you here?'' ''I wanted to see you Sinon. I heard stories about you. I also heard that you inherited my talents as pilot. Do you work?'' ''Yes. As a guard of the Shimamori clan.'' Her father nodded. ''Well... It is good, but your talent in martial art is lacking. I will teach you if you want.'' Sinon agreed and stood up to make some food for her father and her. The day was just started.
