Chapter 2

Sinon Yuki was at her house. She was drinking an apple juice and without any notice, Yuzu showed up. ‘’Where were you? You vanished again!’’ Yuzu sat on the couch. ‘’I am busy, you know? There are some things I need to work on.’’ ‘’Well… Tell me what it is.’’ ‘’I can’t. There are spys everywhere and there are also the Dragons, Golden Chrysanthemums and Outcasts that cause many problems within Kusari.’’ ‘’I already know that. So what? You work as a naval force?’’ ‘’...’’ ‘’Tell me.’’ ‘’ I can’t Sinon.’’
Yuzu Takeda kept his actual job for himself. There was no question about putting her daughter in this. Actually, Yuzu worked on his own as a freelancer, but his experience within the Naval Forces made him an incredible pilot. He was maybe within the fifties, but sure he was healthy. The reason why he always wore a grey uniform with a mask was to make sure that no one would recognize him. If he was recognized, who knows what will happen? People will ask him questions about his fake death and it was a thing he prefered to avoid. But today, Yuzu Takeda was ready to make sure that Kusari was safe enough for his daughter. He wanted her to marry a noble to make her life more easy and comfortable but what he did not know, the noble he had in mind was already married to someone. So it was then he broke the long silence. ‘’Did you marry that Shimamori?’’ ‘’No and he is already married. AND no I will not marry one of his sons because they are to young.’’ This answer put Yuzu under silence. He might think, but no one else came to mind. It was unthinkable to see her daughter with a farmer or worse with a Dragon. But what he did not know, Sinon was in love with a girl before coming to Kusari. If he knew this, who knows what he would think about his child?

Sinon and Yuzu were outside. This time, Yuzu was training Sinon to be better in martial arts. ‘’Not like this. Try again.’’ Always the same sentence Yuzu said. Sinon needed to practice her balance before to get knowledge of fighting. Sinon had one foot on the ground and she was doing the chair position into the void. She had pain but it was essential. ‘’That’s hurts!’’ Yuzu did not care about it. He said ‘’Stop crying. If you can’t go through this, you will be not a good guard.’’ The young woman took breaths and tried to be calm. She tried to ignore the pain she was feeling at this moment. Her father wanted her to be in that position until nightfall and it was lunchtime. Pain could be read on Sinon’s face. She was in that position for an hour and Yuzu was just observing her. She was progressing but it was not enough. Yuzu stood up and decided to put glasses on her arms and on her right leg. ‘’Think like it was your life, those glasses.’’ The woman almost lost her stance but she kept it up by reducing her centre of gravity by doing so, she managed to stay in that position with the glasses.

It was nightfall and Sinon could not stay in that position anymore. ‘’Father, can you bring the glasses where they were? I can’t be in that position anymore.’’ Yuzu came and removed the glasses. The kusarian girl was relieved and all covered in sweat. ‘’You did well. However, you will do it again and again.’’ ‘’Why? Why should I need to do this again?’’ ‘’Because it is the basics. It is not after one time you will be a master. And it needs to be done slowly.’’
That made Sinon a bit angry but she walked toward the bathroom where she took a long shower. It was good after a long day of training. After the shower, she took a kimono and relaxed for the rest of the night. She watched a TV show named The princess and the dragon. In that show, the story was that a princess of a kingdom was taken by bandits and then, a dragon attacked them because it was hungry. However, it did not eat the princess but it took her to its nest. Of course the princess was afraid but she was thankful to the dragon who ‘’rescued’’ her. Days passed and the princess was still there with the dragon. However, when she asked something, the dragon did what she said. When she returned to her kingdom on the back of a dragon, people named her: The whisperer of Dragons.
After an hour, Sinon fell asleep on her couch while the TV continued to show its programs.
