Lu found herself once again working overtime. The fact that it had slowly become a forced habit as to cover for other corporate execs not being there made her not always aware of the vast amount of work she was putting in. She stepped from her desk and headed towards the restroom to refresh with a splash of water. As she looked at herself in the mirror and felt a strong feeling of sadness come over her. This wasn't the person she remembered she was. In fact, the woman in the mirror looked weary and tired... The moment was interrupted by a ping from her desk so grabbing a towel she dried her face while walking back to the desk...
A message from one of the chief engineers telling her that the work on the "ancient retrofit transport" was done and needed client approval. And with that a slight smile made the tired wrinkles in her face go away for an moment.
"Well, time to call Sonja, I'm sure she's going to be happy we managed this in such a short time..." she thought as she typed away on a message to Sonja while hoping this would be the end of a day as she already planned to spend yet another night in the office...
