Report Description
Good evening,
After a debrief, the alarm begun sounding throughout the Missouri, long range scanners had picked up a hostile signal near Zone-21 and was approaching towards the lanes to the Texas system at cruise speed. As I departed from the Hangar Bays of the Missouri, I was surprised to find the Lady Of Leeds on my scanners, both Captain Summers and her crew were enroute to the location of the signal. Following shortly behind was Admiral Kemp Smith, seems like they both were on a patrol before detecting the signal themselves. I powered up my cruise engines and made my way towards the signal on an intercept course. Upon getting closer, I scanned the target, it was an 'Upholder' Bomber class vessel, being piloted by an insurgent. I started firing cruise disruptors the moment I got into the appropriate range. However, it was not enough as the Insurgent had countermeasures prepared. Right before he was about to get out of the disruptors maximum range, Recoil-19 appeared out of nowhere from the opposite direction and begun firing disruptors as well. The bombardment of cruise disruptors were too much and made it past the countermeasures. The Insurgent was now grounded with little to no chance of escape. I powered up my weapons, charging into battle. Admiral Kemp had both Recoil-19 and Captain Summers on standby to counter any further reinforcements, forming a secure perimeter. The battle was tough, going against a Bomber which had both better firepower and armor than a regular fighter proved to be quite the hurdle to overcome. Fortunately, the advantages the bomber had become its disadvantage as well, the increased weight that came with it caused the bomber to lack in agility. I kept on its tail throughout the duel and managed to dispose of it with some damage sustained. It seems that the Insurgency movement in core systems are beginning to fall apart, soon it will only be the stragglers left to clean up.
