Greetings Mr. Tofferson,

The delay was no problem as we have only recently finished making preparations for construction of the station, and I appreciate you considering the request carefully.

I hope our readings did not alarm you these were taken in open space without any shield from a station or a vessel which are designed to absorb much of this radiation. Though the readings were higher than what we had surveyed a few years prior, we figured it was just due to the solar cycle which we have not fully mapped. The readings were also taken from a ship, and not a station based array so they are more susceptible to miscalibration through the harshness of space travel. I would be interested to get your readings of radiation levels as a comparison if you are able to share them, and we will also take much more accurate readings once we get our equipment setup on Appleton Laboratory.

I very much appreciate you taking the time to do a thorough risk assessment. We have discussed it and reviewed the data and I think we can make 4 km work with some additional shielding around certain instrumentation. We will plan to start construction soon. I would be curious to know what the major factors were in the determination of the 4 km restriction as we might want to see if there is anything that can be done to mitigate them and perhaps have our station towed closer in the future.

I fully appreciate the time, effort, and resources you have put into this request. We didn't anticipate the effort on your end to be so great with the employment of Med Force Enterprises and the conduction and review of a thorough risk analysis. If we can provide a nominal sum to help offset these costs, we would be happy to do so. If this would be helpful please do let us know where to send the funds, and the amount of any costs incurred above the normal operation of Freeport 1.

Respectfully,
Dr. Ron Kosher
