Once the honored head of the Insurgency's homeguard, and a potent tool of the Hellfire Legion before then, the aging Dreadnought Ven'Gyr has spent the last five years held captive in Crayterian custody at Sabah Shipyard, poured over by CIS agents and CDI bookies. With the crew in detention and Crayter fumbling at finding a use for the vessel beyond target practice, a decision had to be made at some point about what to do with the ship, lest it sit in limbo until someone lost a bet or their nerve.

Enter, Lipari. With talks ongoing between the Harris signatories, and a renewed effort by the Republic to alleviate their security situation in the Taus, a solution was offered to Crayter: Transfer the vessel to Lipari's Armed Forces, and with it the responsibilities that come with a relic like the Ven'Gyr. Despite moderate CIS pushback, largely on the grounds of continued study, Crayter saw the value in bolstering their ever-faithful ally in the north, and agreed to the transfer. With the ship's place in Lipari's Armed Forces a shoo-in, all that remained was relocating the ship to Tau-44.
A task easier said than done.

Though the Republic has seen to the deployment of a portion of their home fleet to protect their prospective new flagship, the potential for opposition from their many enemies in the Taus is too great to rule out. Outcasts, Royalists, and even elements of the LSF deployed to the region; all would relish the opportunity to sink the aging Legion warship, and all would soon find the window to do so.

Details:

The Lipari + Allied force will begin near Sabah Shipyard in Coronado. The Ven'Gyr will proceed along the direct course from Coronado to Tau-44, and will only cruise when enemies are not within scanner range. Once the Ven'Gyr reaches Tau-44, she will become protected, and cannot be killed.
For the purposes of roleplay, if the Ven'Gyr is destroyed before reaching Tau-44, it will become severely damaged. Damaged sustained upon reaching Tau-44 will be factored into future roleplay.

Opposition forces will gather at locations they deem opportune, and may engage the Ven'Gyr and escort force at any point on the travel route before reaching Tau-44. Respawns for this event will be allowed, although the one hour server respawn timer will remain in effect. Should the fighting last long enough, those who died will be allowed to rejoin, as if this were any other standard server fight.
For the purposes of this event, Opposition Forces will be any faction that has both ZoI and free engagement lines against combat ships, as well as the Liberty Security Force.

With exception to the *MR|MNS-Abaddon and the Ven'Gyr itself, this event will be for gunboats and below only.
