With the Insurgency's scout squadron locating the Akhetaten and her convoy during a regular patrol around the California system, the Insurgency became aware of the vessel's presence in the system and saw that as an opportunity to strike the Osiris-class while it is away from Liberty's capital.

The battleship's most recent re-deployment in Kansas and Vespucci along with Liberty's advancements towards the Insurgency capital left the latter without the firepower nor the manpower to launch a direct assault on the rear guard of the Liberty Navy.

After a few weeks, however, an opportunity presented itself as the Akhetaten was no longer seen within the Vespucci system. Insurgency command believes that the Osiris-class has been sent back to the California system - in close proximity to the vital Magellan system - and is once again both away from the Navy's forward fleet in Vespucci as well as Liberty's capital.

Details:

An Insurgency wing assisted by the Lane Hackers is waiting for the Akhetaten's patrol to pass through the Mojave-California Minor tradelane as their acquired intelligence points to the convoy using this lane as part of their patrol. With the lane disrupted and multiple hostiles in-bound, the Akhetaten broadcasts a distress call to planet Los Angeles - the location of the nearest allied fleet - while the Insurgency wing forwards their coordinates to their primary attack force hidden inside the Whitney Ice Field.

• The Akhetaten's convoy will consist of the battleship, one Archer and two-four bombers/fighters depending on sign-ups. The Insurgency convoy will consist of the same ship numbers and sizes with Lane Hackers being the preferred bombers.
  
• The Liberty Navy reinforcing fleet will be waiting at Planet Los Angeles and will consist of 1 battleship, 2 battlecruisers, 2 cruisers and one gunboat . The Insurgency reinforcing fleet will be located somewhere within the Whitney Ice Field, away from scanner range, and will consist of the same ship numbers and sizes. The fleets will not begin their course to the fight until inRPly told so over emergency system-wide comms.
  
• The Insurgency side wins if the Akhetaten is disabled. The Liberty side wins if the Akhetaten is alive when combat ends.
