. I was mapping Omega-7 when I received a general broadcast for Starfliers to assemble in Liberty. Putting aside my charting I made my way to New York. Unfortunately I had some engine damage received from mapping a cloud of volatile gases. By the time I reached Liberty, whatever event was supposed to happen, was over. Mr. Halpert contacted me to warn me not to return to the Starflier Base, so I went to meet up with him in Coronado, he had found an escorted convoy that was headed into the Omicrons. Remembering my prior fascination with how to reach the Omicrons, I decided to tag along for the ride. Mr Halpert seems to be a little grumpy, but he's sweet. He grumbled a bit about everything, but never hesitated to answer any questions that I had. He reminds me of my Ojii-san before he passed away. The convoy consisted of multiple Freelancers being escorted by a Bounty Hunter. Everyone was friendly, though the NHI ship "Ye Donkey" was piloted by someone who sounded a bit crude and possibly not all there in the brains department. We were taken through to the Virginia System where I saw the largest and most impressive Jumpgate I have ever seen. Everything was marked as "restricted" but no-one seemed bothered by this fact. I attempted to take a picture with my charting camera... Only to find out that my camera was broken. Probably in the same explosion that damaged my engines in Omega-7. Halpi...err Mr Halpert had to quickly leave due to an urgent reason, but I continued on with the convoy. Disappointed, but intent on seeing this ride through to the end, I followed everyone through the jumpgate and found a really beautiful system. Apparently called Omicron-Nu, giant green nebula pillars dominated the scenery. The system has a bright star, gas giants and pretty asteroid fields. As I followed the convoy I saw a small station, but the convoy members claimed it was just a rest-stop. The next system was called Omicron-Minor. It was as claustrophobic and oppressive as Nu was open and impressive. Everything was in a thick green cloud of dust and asteroids that was hard to see through. There were no points of reference or directions to be made out, yet people still knew where they were going. Entering into an automated formation with Ye Donkey, tried to make sense of this system, but instead was told about scary purple aliens that live in the area and attack unwary ships. Little did I know that they weren't ghost stories... In the next system, Omicron-Zeta, I was again greeted by a beautiful scenery, this time purple. No sign of the oppressive green cloud could be seen. No sooner had I passed through the gate, than I was greeted by an unfamiliar ship signal. A strange nearly translucent purple vessel was performing graceful curves and circling maneuvers around the convoy. The Bounty Hunter was keen to go into battle stations, but the purple ship did not attack us. The convoy allowed me to go up close and scan the ship, which didn't work... Same problem as the camera. I was told that this graceful and almost beautiful ship was one of the mysterious "nomad". I was told it was only a baby, which is why it did not attack, but that they are horrifying and aggressive normally. This ship allowed me to get close and examine it without attacking, but did not respond to any attempts at communication. Returning to the convoy, I followed them through this beautiful purple space and into another drastic contrast, Omicron Delta. The system is surrounded by darkness, like it is the opposite of Omicron Zeta. The local star demonstrated that there was no dust or visual obstruction. Just that we were in a giant tunnel through a dark nebula. A quick calculation made me realise, this tunnel's width could be measured in light-years, therefore length was unfathomable. The tunnel is perfectly straight, which means either nature is really freaky or something so powerful it is mind numbing had made the tunnel. I somewhat in shock by now I followed the convoy to Planet Nauru. At this point they started talking about a return trip. I decided that I would stop here at the planet. The Core, who own the planet, possess the technology to repair my survey equipment. This would allow me to once again take pictures, calculate coordinates and record my journey in a manner more fitting than mere words. I also figured that I could use the time to wait for Halpie... Umm... Mr Halpert to catch up. .
