CAPTAINS LOG - Entry #14: Setbacks

We have continued our operations in the Texas system to the best of our abilities, however repeated skirmishes with Liberties forces have stretched the Torment thin. Our hull integrity has seen better days and we're down several fighters and bombers, the shield coupling has failed on more than one occasion and we've lost two of our primary turrets. In other words, operating in the field this long without routine maintenance at a shipyard has taken a considerable cost.

Thankfully we have finally received orders to return to Verspucci for some much needed repairs. I'm sure the crew is looking forward to shore leave as well, some haven't stood on dirt in over a year. Funny how we take simple things like that for granted in daily life. Meanwhile I have the miserable duty of informing the family of the deceased of the fate of their loved ones. It never gets easier.

I have requested a meeting with one of the admirals back on Veracruz to discuss the current status of the Insurgency. Rumors have been reaching us through my Junker contact on Beaumont Base that Insurgency forces are being fought back all over Liberty, I want to know if there is any truth to those rumors and how the admirals plan on turning things around if they are.
