It was definitely a sign of appreciation, even if there were no words to convey that right now and just the fact that his eyes seemed to keenly inspect what he'd just been given.

Mentally reassuring himself, he'd finally take hold of the small box and turn his gaze back to her, nodding deeply before he'd speak again. "Thank you." He almost felt guilty he'd not got her anything now, but even if he had something made for her there was every chance it would seem mundane relative to the expansive amount of possessions she already had.
