Shortly after it's arrival to reinforce the Carrier Ohio and her escort fleet, we initiated a routine combat patrol to secure the flanks of the Ohio and prevent any Insurgent surprise attacks. While this patrol was quiet in itself, no Insurgent forces coming to challenge us, it provided us with important information regarding the geography and potential attack vectors of Insurgent forces. During our combat patrol, we neared the once thought destroyed Insurgent shipyard identified as Marshall Station. The station itself has suffered serious damage but still remains partially capable of performing repairs on enemy warships. Marshall Station has been marked as a priority target to prevent the Insurgency from getting any more warships combat ready and prevent combat ineffective ships from being repaired and returned to duty. The idea of boarding the station for the ensuing planetary siege was proposed, but the most likely scenario would be the Insurgents scuttling the facility after marines board the station, or worse, while a vessel is docked, and thus destruction is recommended.
Insurgent planetary defenses are rather light, with only a few gun platforms and what remains of the Insurgent Navy. We believe once the Insurgent Navy and their staging point from Marshall is destroyed, the planetary siege will progress without meaningful resistance from ground based snub craft. For now, the Akhetaten stands ready to defend the Ohio against Insurgent attacks.
