I can see these opportunities being your only reliable way to get by. Your tale of becoming a soldier to avert poverty is in line with the first Kusari-Gallia war, and the failed Republic's attempts to quell both us, and the Exiles. They were desperate and took in folks like you rapidly in an effort to replenish their forces.
