Canasius, you're overlooking something about that incident, if it's the one I'm thinking of...I for one was ordered to stand back as there were already enough forces to deal with the pirate.
I will also stress my opinion again that a few RP words are far less important than getting the job done. Afterwards, yes it is nice to make a few comments, particular given that the loser has survived (as they always do). But on engaging, it wastes time. After some time and practice, some can chat and fight appropriately, but I'm still getting to grips with that and would much rather do the job.
Some people seem to be getting confused about what "role-play" is actually about. It's not about chatting, it's about performing the assumed role. A Police or Naval Officer will not chat with a criminal, they will deal with them according to their operational parameters. In Freelancer, the role-play is about being a pirate and stealing, being a terrorist and murdering, being a Hunter and seeking a pay cheque, being a smuggler or just simply wandering the stars in pursuit of commerce or leisure. These are the foremost aspects of the role-play environment. Chatting with your foe is illogical and potentially dangerous if you should instead be readying your weapons.
