A Moment of Reflection

After her seven months in the Brotherhood filled with hard work and high amount of gained experience have passed, as well as being noticed by the Elders, Nina Rodriguez, a daughter of Luciano Rodriguez and Florence Garcia received the rank of Centurion and before that, Decurion. Being a Centurion for a woman was something rare and her life condition could be considered as decent if we compared her childhood from nowadays. When she has been promoted to become a Centurion, one of the Elders, Alberto Rodriguez gave her the responsibility to command the lower ranks among the Corsairs in Kusari and to represent The Brotherhood there. For someone who's only twenty years old, it was insane and dared. Why a single woman aged of twenty years old would represent The Brotherhood within Kusari? It would be the question asked by many. Maybe the Elders know something that Nina is not aware of. Maybe Nina was meant to become a great woman among her people. Who knows what the future is. Possibilities are illimited and numerous.

Nina was in the bathroom of an apartment on Lagos Depot. The chamber in question was luxurious compared the normal ones. When a highly ranked corsair stays in a specific location, it was normal that the apartment needs to be decent for their ranking. Because she was a Centurion, it was normal that her apartment was luxurious. There was a little living room, a bathroom with a big tub, a bedroom with a big bed and a dining room. Covered in water and bubbles having the smell of roses, the woman had a moment of thinking. She thought about the people she had met and the events that happened. Before to join The Brotherhood, Nina Rodriguez had met the vice-almirante of the Black Flag, Lucia Jaquez. They soon developped a good friend relationship. But then, after some months, Nina never saw Lucia again. Maybe was she just gone? Then, she met Cesar Gutierrez, one of the Elders of The Brotherhood. Then there was a day when she met Alberto. Those meetings pushed Nina to join them. She then heard about The Deterrence. She met some of them but most of the encounters with them was disappointing for Nina. The same group began to be more influent and then, at some point, they started to act like if they were alone ruling the empire. They began to spread rumors about The Brotherhood because of disagreements. Those same rumors say that The Brotherhood does not represent the corsair and they do things wrongly. They even criticized The Council of Elders. The rumors spread by them and the fact that they criticized the council made Nina to dislike them a bit more. But the hot water manage to bring Nina in peace. Even if the thoughts crossed her mind. Still in the water, Nina Rodriguez thought about Lady Hakkera, the governor of Honshu. She met the governor in Honshu while she was just there to 'visit' Kusari. The Corsair loved the place. She still hope that one day, Kusari will accept the Corsairs officially. If it happens, it would be a great benefit for the Corsairs. It will probably change the minds of certain person who despises them.


After hours spent in the bath, Nina got out of it, dried herself and pressed on some buttons to make the water going in the drain. Once her body dried, she started to dry her long hair. The young woman dressed herself and looked at herself in the mirror. Then, she dropped the towel on the ground and her hair gained their place. Her hair was red but more crimson. ''The color of my hair is different among the corsairs... Maybe I can call myself as the Crimson Girl?'' She said to herself. After admiring her self, Nina headed up to the bed and laid on it. Thinking about anything and nothing. Then, an idea popped up in her mind. ''Crimson Guard... It sounds well for a squadron or even a group.''

The next day, in the morning, the Centurion woke up after an amazing dream. She opened her eyes and got off the bed. She got dressed in her usual outfit, a black coat, a red t-shirt exposing a bit her belly, black pants and black boots. Nina looked into a mirror and saw that she needed to brush her hair and that was what she proceeded to do. In the bathroom, Nina grabbed her brush and began to brush her crimson hair. While she was brushing her hair, ideas begin to be more precise. The group she would like to create would be like this: One leader, two personal guards and the rest, elite warriors/fighters. The goals would be exploring and acting a bit like a mercenary group in exchange of money. It was a good idea but she would need to talk about this to the Elders if it would be approved, so she can proceed with her desires.
