-Project Description:
The Black Lance Project began in 781 AS onboard Prison Station Mitchell, funded privately by Admiral Geoffrey Tolwyn of the Liberty Security Force. The project's ultimate goal was to create a super-human soldier, through the use of genetic engineering, that would someday lead Liberty's military against potential enemies.

The result of the Black Lance Project was a small squadron of genetically superior pilots, who possessed faster reflexes, greater strength, and higher mental capacity than the average human being. During trials, the squadron - which became known as Black Lance, after the project tag - made surgical strikes against Rheinland, Kusari, and Bretonian installations. All test operations were flawless, with no warning before the attack, and no survivors or evidence after.

Joint Liberty Navy projects at the time were also developing biological weapons, which were capable of targetting specific genetic traits and attacking organisms which exhibited those traits. These biological weapons were first used by Black Lance pilots during attacks against borderworlds planets, as a test of the effectiveness of both the weapons and the pilots using them.

Shortly before the Nomad War, Black Lance dissapeared from Alaska without a trace. Every member of the squadron remained unaccounted for, with no explanation of their mysterious departure. To this day, the Liberty Navy and Security Forces are unaware of Black Lance's Operations, or if they even still exist.

Recent History

When Black Lance dissapeared from Alaska, it was for a reason. Members of Black Lance believed themselves to be better than other humans, stronger and quicker - as their 'creators' had made them. Black Lance knew about the oncoming Nomad War - They believed that humanity was doomed, and only the strongest of it's populace would survive the coming trial.

What the group did not anticipate was the Order's hand, along with the daam k'vosh artifact they possessed, in defeating the Nomad invaders. They were angered by this 'intervention', and took it upon themselves to test humanity's strength, to selectively destroy and massacre the weak, so as to improve the species as a whole. The concept of "only the strong shall survive" had been hard-coded into their DNA as part of their genetic engineering.

The Black Lance found themselves without any allies, against all of humanity. In the years after the Nomad War, they allied themselves - grudgingly - with several powerful criminal organizations, the primary being the Outcasts. The Black Lance views the outcasts as below them, yet stronger than the bulk of humanity due to the effects of cardamine manipulation on their DNA. Through the Outcasts, Black Lance was put in contact with a group of exceptionally advanced pirates - known as 'The Lane Hackers' - within liberty. In exchange for knowledge about Liberty's security systems and operations within Alaska, the Hackers provide ships, repairs, ammunition, and bases which the Black Lance can operate out of.

Goals

The Black Lance is concerned with one thing alone - Furthering the Human race through the selective elimination of it's weakest elements. Anyone who shows signs of weakness is seen as a threat to humanity's survival, and subsequently eliminated.

Despite this extremist attitude, the Black Lance rarely attacks civilian ships directly. Rather, they prefer to use bio-weapons discreetly on civilian targets, allowing them to believe that their deaths were the result of mere disease and sickness rather than acts of terrorism.

The Black Lance focuses it's open attacks on military targets - primarily the Liberty Navy, Liberty Security Force, and LSF - though military targets from all four houses are considered threats. The Black Lance prefers to use surgical hit-and-run attacks, using fear and psychological warfare to gain the upper hand.

The Black Lance is not concerned with the 'petty' war between the outcasts and corsairs - in fact, they support it, as it is the belief of all Black Lance members that strength is maintained through conflict and strife. Peace breeds complacency and weakness.

For lack of a better option, Black Lance members will use a Lane Hacker IFF (//tag), and a generic Pirate identification.

Zones and Bases of Operations

ZOI

The Black Lance operates Primarily in Liberty and the surrounding independent systems, though strikes into bretonia, rheinland, and kusari will occur on occasion. Black Lance members may travel to the Omicron Systems in order to procure equipment from the Outcasts.

Bases

The Black Lance primarily bases itself out of Mactan Base in Magellan, and Leiden Base in Galileo. They prefer to avoid other 'criminal' bases, including Junker bases, as they view these others to be weak.

Black Lance members are to use the name setup - BlackLance-Callsign

For example, my own character is named BlackLance-Seether

If you want to join, contact me via PM. No 'backstory' is required, as all members of black lance have the same history and background - you just need to be capable of Rp'ing someone who believes that he is better than everyone else around him, and believes in strength above all else.

//OOC bits:

-This faction will remain unofficial, as it is intended to be more of a small-scale terrorist group than to follow an NPC faction.
-The purpose of this group is to get together skilled pilots for organized, scheduled pvp events against lawfuls (At least, it will be scheduled with the other Black Lance members - it's generally better if the enemy doesnt know we're coming).
