CAPTAINS LOG - Entry #33: Tinkers Construct
Date: August 21st, 829 A.S.

At the end of last week Chief Engineer Mcintyre reported his findings on the Parabellums engine. It seems the "Murmillo" class battleship of the Corsairs uses even older Libertonian designs than we originally thought. Fortunately as expected this only makes our job easier. He went over the specifics, but I must confess most of it went over my head. All in all he seemed to be pushing for upgrading the existing engines though. Frankly I had to agree, if only to make sure that the Corsairs didn't quite as easily get a better grasp on Libertonian technology. If we lose our edge out here, I doubt we'll last very long.

I greenlit the project and sent him and his team to work, I've also asked one of the Corsairs stationed near the Torment to inform Captain Matteo of the progress. I considered a secure transmission, but I'm not entirely sure the Corsairs would like it very much if they detected the Torment was broadcasting coded messages, this seemed like the easiest way to avoid any 'misinterpretations.'

Several days later Chief Engineer Mcintyre came back, a small glint in his eyes. He might have had his reservations about working alongside the Corsairs, but he's nothing if not a professional and I could see he felt a sense of pride and accomplishment in his work, even if it had been slightly more 'resource intense' than initially expected.

Lets see if the Corsairs are pleased enough with their new toy to uphold their part of the bargain.

Captain Lucian Perez,
Signing off.
