Imagine if Rheinland suspected for even a moment that the Guild had stronger ties to Liberty due to weapons contracts, that would be an entire swath of space suddenly removed from the payroll.

That is a fairly specious and unlikely scenario. Any individual BH could mount the most effective weapons for them and it wouldn't mean to anyone that the guild has stronger ties to any one group or the other, any more than if a private security group working in the US uses H&K's it mean they are spies for the germans.

I guess your thinking the Iraqi police are Austrian spies because they carry Glocks?

The fact is that it's perfectly within RP for a person to use the weapon he thinks best when he has the option without anyone thinking that indicates their loyalty. In a guild, where leadership doesn't have a concern beyond contract negotiation and protecting the pay of it's members, there is really no real justification to enforce arbitrary weapon restrictions that hurt the effectiveness of it individuals.

Unorthodox weapon loadouts and that kind of thing, are worth OK-ing with the community -before- you go out and do it with your justification.

What community would that be? The one made of factions that like to keep the indies down?
