Well I must give a kudos to DTR on the successful base defense, withstanding sieges from three major foes all in a short time frame. When it comes to sieges where both sides have very large capital ships and decent numbers, it leaves only a fine line between victory or defeat. That is what I always found most interesting about the battles here, when they are real there is at least something worth logging for, other than just flying around, and it spurs all sorts of connected activity. People should be somewhat happy when you get some real action in, even if you don't win outright. In these cases, neither side truly lost, and being able to really take the chance creates real value to the journey, on both sides.
In regards to the events, I see it as, that is done when there is a bit of a need to stimulate activity. It's fortunate when we have enough active factions for things to unfold naturally. So to me priority should to go natural activity over scheduled unofficial events, and sometimes you may have to roll with the unexpected. Those events may have been put off, but the Core's gamble wound up handing you something just as valuable.
To the other factions, without taking sides, you can't always fly in and win a big victory overnight. Sometimes you have to dig deep!
Of all the action from last week, anyone take any videos?
