My name is Moritz.

I used to run errands for the Zoners for a while. "Escort this transport", "escort this VIP", "Moritz, can you help me with a bunch of Outcasts?". All of this took place in the Independent Worlds, much closer to the Omicrons than I'd normally like, too. And one day I said to myself: "I really don't like to be an errand boy!". I've reached my thirties already and I still worked for barely enough to hold myself afloat. I figured the bad guys had it much better by pinching a trader here and there.

Bad life choice after bad life choice led me down knee-deep in sh*t - debt, too. The "geniune" jobs didn't pay well anymore. I was kind of cornered at that point. Prison for tax evasion, death by the local mob I owed money to or earn a quick buck via non-consensual money grabbing to make it all go away. I did pick the third option. Now it's been...what? Two years?

I've cleared my debts toward the local gangs. Within the Sigma systems, I mean. What I didn't do is sort things out with the authorities. I figured that at this point there's not much to go back to. Being all by my lonesome got a little stale, so I've decided to try and find a crew to run with. Queue the drum roll...it's you.

And yes, I did stumble upon your Code. I agree to it.
