Unfortunately, certain devs and staff pushed away Zentor who had a great fix in mind for abandoned/forgotten POBs. Yup, you know who you are and nope, I will not let this die as long as I have fingers to type.
Exponentially increase the rate of decay based on certain milestones from the % of base health remaining while the needs of active POBs decrease. It was a great system to get rid of the spam and trash while allowing active POB owners to remain happy with their work.
To answer your question, SnakThree. For me, it's the tangible difference that I see. Sure we see credits rise and fall as we purchase and sell commodities. But knowing that the food rations in my cargo is going to my crew on my station or that the reinforce alloy I'm delivering will go to an equipment build or to station repairs. POBs enable more RP options for us who cannot physically keep up with the rigors of PVP such as contracts.
There are a variety of reasons why people build POBs as they have posted before me. For me, I like seeing the numbers, doing the math, and knowing that my deliveries make a real tangible difference.
It ain't about what you are capable of, it's about what you're willing to do.
