So I never really knew how to make this post but i wanted to say good bye to my childhood community. I'm 26 and I've been part of this community for the past 10 years which is a considerable chunck of my life. It's like... wow that's a long time. Yeah some people have been here longer but shit that's still a long time.
Almost a year Ukraine was invaded by Russia in an unjust war where countless amounts of people have been killed unnecessarily. 8 months ago one of my really good friend and his brother left us and his family all behind and went back home to fight for his country where 4 months ago he paid the ultimate cost and laid his life down saving a fellow soldier. Shortly before his sacrifice me and 3 others started training with a special group with the ultimate goal of going out to Ukraine and fighting along side him.
Well, that time has come. Me and my 3 mates will be leaving for Ukraine this morning. We're not exactly sure how long we'll be deployed for or where we're going inside Ukraine, even if we knew I couldn't say, but with our medical training I'm sure we'll be all over the place including the front lines. 3 of us will be going out essentially as combat medics and my last mate will be deploying as an engineer. We all plan to help out as many people as we can.
So yeah. I really hope this is not my last post, morbid i know, but yo lo (why is yo lo censored LMAO). Thank you for everything this community has offered to me. You've been here for my best and darkest times. I have many lasting memories with all the friends and opportunities i have made.
To all the Ukrainians out there, stay strong. I could be seeing you soon.
Glory to Ukraine.
Staff team edit:A later post in this thread has provided an update on Connor's situation. Given the importance of this news, it's being edited into the OP as well for visibility.

My name is Jerry, or Agent 66, and I am Connor's father. I'm not really sure how to make this post but he wanted me to let you guys know if anything happened. I never thought I'd be writing this but here I am and this is incredibly difficult.
Two months ago Connor went back to Ukraine but this time was different. He wasn't there just to provide medical support but he went to actually fight. Connor joined a group of Foreign Legion who had English, American and Canadians in it where they were actively taking combat missions.
On the 15th of November I was informed that we lost Connor to the war. I don't want to share too much as it's quite personal but his squad was tasked to take a captured Ukrainian trench and bring it back under their control. He lost his life saving one of his fellow fighters dragging them to safety who because of Connor lived.
I don't really have much else to say but he wanted me to let people here know if anything was to happen to him. Discovery must have meant a lot to him.
Before Connor left he and his partner decided to get married. He also has a son on the way as well.
He's left us behind and has gone to a better place. I hope his efforts are not in vein. He will be missed by all of us at home who love him dearly.
Thank you all.
He left a small message for you guys which I would like to share.
Hi all. This is going to sound a bit cliche but if you're reading this I didn't make it home. I've left 3 of these. One for you guys, my wife and my future kid and my parents.
I haven't told anyone apart from my family but I'm going back to fight. It was a very hard decision to do especially with whom in leaving behind. Some might call it selfish but my family understood.
I have joined the Foreign Legion and will be heading back out to Ukraine tonight. I just want to say thank you to everyone for my time here.
Scourge, Thomas, Loki, Light, Dimi, Alley, Godslayer, Geoff, Saronsen, St Denis, Cori, Jammi, Prophet, Jazzi and many more. I'm writing this in a rush. You guys have all been amazing friends to me here in my time playing Discovery. Thank you guys for everything.
And yes, Godslayer you can have the Nergal. It's all yours.
I've given away all of my accounts, like steam etc, to family members.
