The night was a long and ardeous one. Was it even a night? What time was it? The chronometer was as useful as half of Traudel's other instruments at this place. Being the good, forthcoming and responsible kind of superior - Traudel had taken first watch. Allowing her protege to get some much needed rest. Staring out into the phenomenon that held both Frieda and her captive at the moment. Surrounded by ruins of ages past, way beyond her own knowledge and understanding. Thoughts went everywhere and nowhere at the same time, coming to no conclusion as to how, why and when.

Silence reigned supreme, only surpassed by failed attempts to grasp what this place might mean in the grand scheme of things. A single interruption of a lone Corsair the only company aside from Frieda. Unexpectedly both refrained from fighting here, rather exchanging words than hot plasma. Words and things of value to each other. A single Corsair escape pod, picked up during the unsuccessful chase - now a bargaining chip for food and water. Given without so much as a second thought to a man she most likely had to fight at an uncertain point in the future. But now? Here at this time in unexplainable space? That pod served to make a statement. One of selflessness, rewarded by generosity in light of their brief conversation about the alien threat that still loomed. Ways parted - and Traudel returned to watch the foreign surroundings. Left to her own devices.

[05.02.2023 05:52:55] Roberto.Manwell: Sure
[05.02.2023 05:52:59] [RM]Obl-Trau.Habermeyer: As a sign of ... well i don't know. Take it whatever way you will.
[05.02.2023 05:53:13] [RM]Obl-Trau.Habermeyer: But i have a pilot of your people in my cargo hold. I'd ... like to hand them over.
[05.02.2023 05:53:39] Roberto.Manwell: that's ... kind of you.
[05.02.2023 05:54:07] Roberto.Manwell: Do you have enough food and water to last, i have some spare if you require it.
[05.02.2023 05:54:07] [RM]Obl-Trau.Habermeyer: That's just how i am. I will leave my little hiding place and near your position by about two clicks if that is alright.
[05.02.2023 05:54:21] [RM]Obl-Trau.Habermeyer: I ... would appreciate that greatly. If you can spare that, that is.
[05.02.2023 05:54:48] Roberto.Manwell: I can indeed, consider it ... payment for handing over one of our pilots
[05.02.2023 05:55:05] [RM]Obl-Trau.Habermeyer: Acknowledged - moving out. Weapons offline.
[05.02.2023 05:55:16] Roberto.Manwell: Powering down weapons
[05.02.2023 05:56:03] [RM]Obl-Trau.Habermeyer: Pod dropped...all yours.
[05.02.2023 05:56:34] [RM]Obl-Trau.Habermeyer: Water and food - ... taken. You have my gratitude.
[05.02.2023 05:56:46] Roberto.Manwell: Well .. as weird as it sounds I do hope you manage to get out of here
[05.02.2023 05:56:58] [RM]Obl-Trau.Habermeyer: Danke. So do we, so do we.
[05.02.2023 05:57:24] [RM]Obl-Trau.Habermeyer: Good luck out there.
[05.02.2023 05:57:39] Roberto.Manwell: Remember only 2 ways out risk the gate or find where the gravity is at its weakest.
[05.02.2023 05:57:57] Roberto.Manwell: good luck too you
[05.02.2023 05:57:58] [RM]Obl-Trau.Habermeyer: We'll try the gravity solution first. Gate ... .. last resort.

Keeping mentally engaged helped fighting off the exhaustion for a while, but after it had been Frieda's turn to keep watch Traudel slipped away in an instant. It wasn't good sleep, yet better than staying awake and ruining the ability to properly steer her vessel in a few hours. Frieda's first attempts at contacting Traudel went unanswered. Too much, it all had been too much. No semblance of rest, no vacation. No brief respite, no chance to catch her breath. Everything kept piling up, growing and growing. Distorted nightmares haunted the Oberleutnant's lamentable period of rest mercilessly. A superior to fear, an enemy to protect, Having been kidnapped recently, seeing countless lives claimed by Suhl. Being caught up in the web of politics and personal favors. And then there was the newly added responsibility in form of ...

"Habermeyer. I think it's time. Please pick up."

... Frieda Voigt. Such a promising addition to the ranks. Full of life, ambition and motivation. Reminding Traudel of herself in many ways. It was no secret that Frieda had quickly managed to not only impress her superior, but outright make herself right at home among the circle of those she held dear. And right now it was time to be there again. Eyes unwilling to be opened so soon again are forced to take in the surroundings, the joke of a sleeping position was adjusted to somewhat stretch within the confines of her ARKM-N9 "Valkyrie". 'Her' Flieger talked, it was time to respond. Priorities after all.

"I a-... ngh-hmgh... i'm here Voigt. I'm here. Are you alright? We are able to hold out longer if needed, an unexpected samaritan shared their supplies with me while you were resting."
