A meeting that changed Nina

During summer 829 A.S, Nina Rodriguez was doing her usual raid in Rheinland. One day, she encountered a Rheinlander pilot, a Military named Traudel Habermeyer. A brown haired woman with blue eyes. As unexpected as it could be, instead of killing each other, they simply shared words and discussed. Already this exchange between those two would be taboo if someone spotted them by doing so. The next day of that first meeting, we could say the cycle took its normal time running. Nina decided to engage the same military into a duel however, again the unexpected thing happened. Nina spared the military’s life because of pity. Because there was no challenge at all, Nina made a taboo decision. She decided to form the pilot in hope to improve Traudel’s pilot abilities.

The next week, they daily met and fought in space. There was only one rule: The first one on fire loose. It was a truce relationship. With more meetings, the relationship between them got stronger. Even being on the opposite side, they became friends. They sometimes went to the bar and spent time like friends would do. They both kept this relationship for themselves. When they met in space and other people were around, they had to act as if they were enemies. But back then, the Military who were there as well sometimes needed to retreat or they simply were taken off by Nina and when Traudel Habermeyer was the only remaining, they both decided to go elsewhere.

In december 829 A.S, Nina Rodriguez was putted under arrest after the Military hired a mercenary who was in charge to disable the ship of the corsair and bring her on the KKS-Ostkantone. The lieutenant Gunter Kunrad and Traudel were in charge to do the interrogation but it ended into a pure sh*tshow. The captain of the Ostkantone decided to take the lead and ‘did’ his methods to force Nina to speak but it did not work. The man executed two prisoners to make Nina talk. However, the admiral Herzsprung arrived and from there, the interrogation took another way of what was supposed to be. In the end, Nina was released into the wild. Now being free, she’ll do whatever she wants. The reasons behind her release were also unexpected. In general, all prisoners such as Corsairs, Hessians or any type of criminal would end up in prison all their lives. But the admiral Herzsprung decided to release the corsair under some conditions. Of course, Nina ‘accepted’ the terms to get out as soon as possible. It would be perfect in a perfect life for the old woman, Mechthild von Herzsprung if Nina really accepts the terms. But always loyal to herself, Nina Rodriguez never respected her words made to Herzsprung.

The disgrace

During January 830 A.S,Nina was sent to Kusari because some activity unauthorized upset the Elders. While on her way there, in Sigma-13, Nina Rodriguez met again Traudel Habermeyer. As usual, they both went to a calm place but this time at Newport station. It was a last goodbye before Nina would stop seeing the Military for a while. The unexpected happened. Traudel finally told the truth to the corsair about how she sees their relationship and it did not please the corsair at all. Due to their huge age difference and due to Nina's backstory, Traudel saw Nina more as a daughter she never had than anything else. Their relationship started to weaken but somehow, it started again to be ‘fixed’. The reason is that Nina was lying to herself trying to convince herself that she needed to kill the person with whom she built this bond. However, she realized that she still liked the woman. It was hard to admit.

Some weeks later, after admitting to the Elder, Cesar Gutierrez that she met a Military and they became friends, at first, he was surprised to hear this and shocked. He told Nina to keep this for herself. The Elder wanted to discuss this matter with some other Elders but unfortunately, they all were busy. Alone in power to make a decision, Cesar Gutierrez decided to demote the crimson haired corsair. By doing so, Nina lost her influence within The Brotherhood but also toward any other corsairs acting on their own. The Elder also said that he forbids all activity in Rheinland and to stop talking with Traudel Habermeyer. Thoroughly angered because she lost her centurion status and what she managed to build so far, the corsair had a brief thought to quit and to never return.
