For the moment, Doc was relaxed as he sat back in his chair with a light smile. For some reason, things seemed right. He just listened about her mother. He just nodded his understanding.
"Your Mother I will leave you to handle in your own way in your own time," he replied. It was all he said of it.

He looked at Niki. "She missed you. She was nice to have for the short time I had her alone. I think she likes it here as there are plenty of mice to chase. My two horses do not mind her catching those."
He then sighed. "I am going to be honest, I think you need to stay here awhile. Whatever you need I will have Gilbert bring you. Once the dust settles, Baffin will be your next stop. For the next couple of days anyway, I will remain here with you."

He then remembered that someone else was present. He simply asked her, "How are you holding up through this, Admete?"
