Something like that should be included in the introduction text
inside almost ANY RP-basic-rulebook. Bravo
There are mosher systems like cyberpunk p&p where most tables tend to
prefer gore over story and that playstyle has its rightful place but I quickly
grew out of the many-dice-addiction giving more of a focus to atmosphere
and role development elements.
Powergaming + Godmodding = Gary/Marry Sue
its boring...
True story RP is without the genuine goal of empowerment,...
no min-maxing...
no control over anything other then the own role...
no IC actions to compensate for OC interests...
no ridiculous decision making against your chars priorities and/or obligations
If you wanna be God go DM...
and IF you take that too far...
you will went out of players very fast...
without any dice in a chat-only-rp please leave options...
Dont say: my char hits your char in the face
better-->
say: my char swings his arm trying to hit your char in the face...
That leaves the other player with options to react...
He might even take the blow if it fits the situation!
Improvisation and telling a story together...that is the key.
Also... a good roleplayer can turn a disadvantage into a character strenght...
he has no problem rolling against type and takes pride in all his faults
instead of bragging about his chars efficiency/influence/authority.
As for me ..an average... I would love to see some "good" Nomad RP....
