"I think you will find, Admete, that more humans would rather not be in conflict with the Nomads than would be," he replied with his cup still in his hands. "I am a man of history and I know how the Nomad sees humans as invaders. Those that choose to to kill or at least attempt to kill the Nomad often do it out of fear as humans often try to fight that which they do not understand. I have come to at least somewhat understand the Nomad and continue to seek more knowledge."
He sipped his coffee, "Heh, those people that threaten you will probably hunt me in the future over my beliefs." He then shook his head a little. "Mankind does not learn from their history. They left their home world in sleeper ships to escape over a hundred years of war, a war they could not remember why they were fighting it in the first place only to get to Sirius and start fighting with each other over turf and ideals."
He then looked over at Admete, "I can understand why you would not like humanity."
There was a moment of silence as Doc was enjoying nature's view through the mist and clouds of the morning while he enjoyed the light rain falling. It was during this time that Sonja awoke and joined him. "Let me Guess, Coffee with Marshmallows?"
He just turned to Sonja with a smile and a chuckle, "Yes, coffee and marshmallows. Wait until I introduce her to hot chocolate and marshmallows later on."
It was at this point that Doc realized he needed a warm-up for his cup so he went in to do so as he did the same for Sonja before returning to the porch and his chair. He was relaxed.
"Admete is quite the.....being," he commented. "I can sense her anger but also her kindness. She protects you yet lets you live life. I will protect her as I would you and that is my commitment."
He sighed. "Now we have to figure out what we are going to do to protect you both."
