I just had to find my way to the forums specifically to thank the faction for a fun and seamless RP experience a couple of days ago in Ontario and beyond, courtesy of XA-Cobra and XA-Scarlet. Was my first day on this server and it's great to see Freelancer still going strong even after all these years. And people like Reeves showing great RP skill, recognizing noobs and acting accordingly while keeping it all suitably iRP!
It was quite the contrast from the only other prior RP encounter I had had that night. It was awkward, but I wasn't well versed enough in server etiquette to react smartly to make it flow more naturally, nor help a fellow newbie (I assume) to get the correct ID for his attempted role. I should get better at this once I familiarize myself with Discovery and get my brain in RP gear again. It's been a while since I played MP games on RP servers.

As I was exploring uncharted systems near Liberty space, a couple of these deranged terrorists caught me off-guard as I was int the middle of testing and configuring a new ship loadout near a Junker base. Xeno fighter wings usually avoid hostile stations, but it seems the ones flying XA-prefixed callsigns toy with their prey. Friggin' psychopaths! After a while of delaying my early grave by negotiating with known terrorists under the cover of station turrets, a lucky coincidence saved the day: Another pilot approached! That gave me the opportunity to slip away while those goons were distracted. I wasn't sure if I could make it out of cruise disruptor range, but I knew it was my one and only shot at getting away.
Soon a grin spread across my face as I taunted them from a safe distance with cruise engines burning brightly on full power. What a test flight. My new ship's countermeasure system was just as unproven as its cruise engines, but luckily it didn't come to that. Thinking back on my luck there, the weapon and target acquisition systems on Xeno ships truly must be held together by nothing more than duct tape and the sheer malice of their pilots.
Nevertheless those XA- ships gave chase, still bloodthirsty and confident on catching me as I made my escape towards civilized space. At a couple of strategic points, I slowed down to see if they were still on my trail. And you know what?
The madmen followed me all the way to the heart of Liberty space--Manhattan orbit! Where is Liberty Police when you need them!? Had to perform an emergency docking on Manhattan ring after one of them engaged me, lucky I didn't burn up in atmosphere. So much for the new and pristine ship. No wonder the first thing new pilots undocking in Pennsylvania see is a warning about Xeno activity, geez. It's not safe out there. All the military buildup from previous conflicts, yet Liberty can't even police its own space!
