A New Life for the Broken Bird

He just smiled at her and then Niki. "Niki will need to stay here," he told her, "but for now, come with me."
Together they walked until they reached the extended docking bridge. There, they continued in casual conversation as they reached the airlock. A rotating door opened as they walked and then another before they were in an entry of Med Force One although he never told her. To her, it was just a walk through the station. Continuing a walk, they approached a small cafe. It wasn't the main cafe that was well known on ship but right now it was attention that Doc didn't want.
"I figured you might like something to eat before we continue," he said to her. "There are a few of these cafes on ship and they make some great breakfast dishes here." With that, they found a table.
Coffee was served and orders taken. while they waited, he finally let her know where she was.

"Welcome aboard Med Force One," he told her with a beaming smile. "It arrived this morning. I quietly escorted you here. This is the ship that began it all for me. There is a lot to learn here and a good many people interned here to include Dr. Doreen Naggar of the Colonial Republic. We will be meeting your team after we eat."

The atmosphere was pleasant. A small flower garden was nearby and a view into space was in the nearby window. A couple of other people were dining at another table who paid no mind to Doc or Sonja.
Doc was sipping his coffee through their small talk. Little did she know that he was as ready to begin her transformation as she was.
