A New Life for the Broken Bird

Nurse Kelly put her book down when Isabella began to stir. Only a thin blanket covered Isabella as she otherwise lay naked on her bed.
"Welcome back," she said softly with a light smile as she watched her and Niki re-acquaint. She then paged Dr. Rikkert who arrived within a few minutes. Excusing himself and in the presence of Kelly, he drew back the blanket to look over the results, touching her in various places to be sure she could feel.

"You came out perfect," he told her. "Your skin will feel a little tight for a few days most likely until it adjust to your movements and such." He then handed her a hand held mirror so that she could look upon her new self for the first time. He just stood back and awaited her reaction. After several minutes, giving her time to look upon herself, both he and Kelly assisted Isabella to her feet, keeping a sheet wrapped around her. They then allowed her to stand before a full body length mirror.

"And this, Isabella, is you," he told her as he carefully let her stand on her own. "I do hope you like what you are seeing."
