The Akhetaten, upon taking part on a small patrol along with Fleet Admiral Kemp-Smith, Ensign Zehel and Lieutenant Junior Grade Chiavallati, received an emergency hail from the Omicron Nu system. Reports mentioned the presence of a small Outcast battlegroup making it's way towards the Supergate and threatening to enter Liberty Space.
Upon making our way to the system and meeting up with the on-station forces, mostly comprised of assets belonging to the First Armada, we begun a thorough sweep of the system. It did not take long before the Outcast battlegroup in question was spotted and it took an even shorter amount of time for the Outcasts to engage our forces. I specifically took command of the Akhetaten during this endeavor and ordered all Liberty Navy assets in the region to not engage the various Order vessels that were in our vicinity, as per our most recent diplomatic attempts with the Order.
The following engagement went smoothly and exactly as planned. The outcome of the battle was sealed after a risky - but entirely controlled - maneuver by the Akhetaten in an attempt to breach the enemy lines, that at this point consisted of three cruisers and a battlecruiser, and attack them from within. The maneuver costed the Akhetaten an extended period of repairs of Norfolk, and the Outcasts one of their cruisers.
Badly damaged and in no position to continue fighting, I ordered for our return to Liberty space and we set course for the supergate, escorted by Lieutenant Junior Grade Chiavallati and a number of Order fighters that were present in the vicinity and seemed to care about the Akhetaten's well-being - a welcome surprise.
Their escort proved to be life-saving to us, as about four kilometers from the supergate, Entity was spotted. With the help of both Chiavallati and our other escorts, we managed to shake the threat and retreat to Norfolk safely. It is worth noting here that the Order operatives involved in the escort requested temporary permission to scout the region of Virginia that the alien warform was predicted to have flew towards. I granted them permission under the condition that they will not be spotted by anyone, one which they accepted.
It is worth pointing out that we should expect communications from both the Section Eight and the Order Overwatch in perhaps the following days. Captain Hawkins of the former had inquiries to make about the First Armada, ones that Laurette Silva advised she makes over more official channels. The latter, on the other hand, is expected to contact us in regards to possible reports they might have of Nomad activity within Liberty's borders, perhaps a courtesy of them after I allowed them to patrol Virginia temporarily.
That will be all for now. Ensign Zehel and Lieutenant Junior Grade Chiavallati; I am most pleased with your performances today, keep up the good work.
