Sirians all,

My name is Erich Klugmann, formerly of the Bundschuh Party of Rheinland. Nicole Hayes' courage as well as the information revealed regarding the Republic of Liberty's operations have given me much to think about; and even if you, dear listener, have already spared time from your working schedule to ponder over this, I would humbly request you spare but a moment more. If you can.

Hayes' prior leak of Operation PESTICIDE almost two months ago has brought attention to merely the apparent surface of the Republic's military research divisions, and chronic issues with dark matter cataclysms of its own errant design. One could of course argue that these are a necessary figment of the modern Sirian nation-state; to keep pace with the likes of the Omnicidal Gallic Crown as the most prime example, and in which case it is difficult to argue that its opponents were not comparatively "in the right".

But a powerful army needs a conquest to justify its own existence - And for lack of a strategically and economically viable national target, Liberty's has elected to turn upon its own protectorates and citizens. It is a long-standing and often effective system that predates all our Sirian House Colonies from the time of Sol; resistance to subjugation, in the nation-state's eyes, justifies the intensification of subjugation. Chains, proverbial or literal, will be made heavier and beatings will be administered until the subjugee wins their battle over themselves, and learns to enjoy the abuse.


Such is most prominently apparent now on the Texas system's Planet Houston and Pennsylvania's Erie - And it is here where I must disagree with one certain part of Hayes' message; There is no corruption in the core of the Liberty Navy, or in Libertonian society.

Something cannot be corrupted when it is working precisely as designed.

Publicly available Neural Net demographic data on Houston's population states that it has 750,000,000 or 750 million people; and it additionally lists 250,000,000 or 250 million prisoners. Assuming this latter population is considered separate from the former, this means that one-quarter of the entire planet's population is a legally proscribed underclass, subject to unfree labor and to serve as effectively the property of the police, prison, and manufacturing corporations that use their labor and manpower for their own benefit.

The very concept is an affront to the very concept of "Liberty", let alone the name the House drags through the mud, scrap, spent asteroids, and dark matter scarring the wounds it's torn open in its space and people; but now, fresh from victory in Bretonia and the Taus, it seeks new prey, new conquests.


I address the people of Erie who may be able to hear me on encrypted channels; and I must confess a truth that I do not believe some may be pleased to hear:

There is no such thing as a "liberator."

No oppressor of any type or creed will ever willingly loosen or allow removal of the ties that bind.

You cannot bargain with an oppressor - Not for any worthwhile amount of time. You cannot rely on a representative to win a battle against a system that labels aberrant, "excessive" oppression and brutality to be "corruption" - just as the citizens of my home nation cannot rely on either a moribund and morally bankrupt Federal Congress, or a guerilla political party chasing nostalgic glories racing further and further out of sight - or a reactionary, inbred Emperor presiding over a system of hierarchical comparison over Pedigree, as if the sheer privilege of "Von" betwixt first and last name were a privilege worth killing thousands for.


You can organize. You can resist, as both your situation and conscience dictate. But you must take the initiative; you must recall, as was a maxim in the Sol nation that constructed your Colony Ship, that "Freedom is not Free." And though you must do these things, and you may quaver at the staggering odds against you... You will not do so alone. When you launch into action all preparations you've made - To defend your lives, loved ones, and livelihoods - You will be joined by many others doing the same, or those who wish to aid you in succeeding in your just struggle.

I will be among that latter category. Whether shoulder-to-shoulder with you on the planetary surface, from behind a cockpit, or from the deck of a bridge, I pledge my aid, cooperation, and coordination.
